If anyone is interested we at the roadrunners will be having our 3rd annual Big Fat Turkey Race "The return of the turkey" oct 25th

there will be t-shirts,prizes, trophys and trophy girls and probably the taco guy again. We've had i think about 120 entries the last two years so we are expecting a good turnout.

If its like last year all entrants get a roadrunners t-shirt, Last years were way awesome if your a starwars geek like us roadrunners with starfighter touring cars and turkeys with lightsabers.

Anyone else having problems with the spur holder? Ive been thru 2 spurs in the last two days. thought it was my spurs till i toasted a PRS pro lite machined spur that spun dead true on my lathe, i noticed that it seems like the spur holder is kinda wonky. the shaft seems straight as i tried using double bearings in the diff housing to try to stabilize the shaft better and all new avid bearings and i cant see any movement on the shaft but can clearly see the spur holder rocking back and fourth as it spins.

It is tight and everything is shimmed to fit perfectly but the spur holder being "out of round" so to speak i cant get it to mesh well at all, i just tried to set it a little tight and bench run it for 30min at medium speed to "wear" the spur in but there is already one section on the spur that seems loose and might strip and the opposite side seems still a little tight.

is this part covered under any sort of warranty or should i buy another one to try?

Thanks Dave! See you next Sunday!

VenturaDC- I have the same problem, however it seems like I just need to remember anytime I loosen the two motor screws I MUST RE-TIGHTEN them after ONE run. I went thru a spur at the RCGT Showdown, put a new one in, ran a qual, tightened it and it lasted the C-A Mains.

Thanks! i did this today while running a few practice runs and had no spur failure, the holder is still lopsided but i guess as long as im not eating gears im good.

hey have a setup for speed tech? was thinking of trying to make some club races down there to break out of my camarillo bubble.

Yup took the win in Stock. .

VenturaDC- Glad you didn't chew one up, I swear that motor mount acts like some aftermarket wheels on a car, always need to re-torque after a test drive . Anywho, as far as setup goes, I'd safely say your Camarillo set-up works there as long as the surface is prepped. Speedtech has the best natural traction due to it's concrete nature. Were you planning on running RCGT or Sedan? I prefer Sedan for my racing so i'd say get some RP30s for Speedtech and you'll be puttin' it DOWN!

Thanks for the info joe.

I would love to come to speedtech to run sedan as we dont have a 17.5 sedan class here in cam besides novice and intermediate and changing back and fourth between 17.5 and 13.5 gets to be kind of a pain with all the programming changes so i would like to keep the 17.5 in the car since we have a big rcgt class here.

And thanks for the aftermarket rim analogy LOL having been a lead mechanic for a import tuner shop it made the most sense to me

sweet! I was a tech for Honda and that was one of the things I hated about my effiency rating... always having to road test then come back to re-torque. . What shop did you work for? Exospeed?
