I don't know if the 2 hole will work. We are using 4 hole 88tooth 64 pitch.

Hope this helps.

Seriously, there is a lot of cars out there that you don't have to spend big money to be competative and it appears that the JL10e is one of them. I for one don't have this car yet, but by reading and seeing the support of a car that retails for $129.00 is intriguing.

PS MikeXray if you are an ackerman theory professor and a chief designer of rc cars I apologies in advance for my ignorance.
I forgot about this thread so forgive my absence.

A video of one car lapping another proves nothing, I can show you videos of cars putting 3 laps on the exact SAME car just with a better driver.

The geometry of this car make work just fine, it may work awesome, the quality of the parts LOOK bad. I have not seen this car in person yet, but I'm sure some one will show up with one soon, but for the similar price point the cyclone S is a very nicely built car (albeit not perfect, but not expecting that either).

I'm curious as to what YOU think is better about this car than others similarly priced.

The spur gear holder is set up for imperial and metric spur gear mounting.
86 should work I would start with a 53 pinion. Should put you about 4.0
I was at 3.9 Check the temp. That will depend on your esc profile and motor.

Yes it is 2.5

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info!

Just fyi with the tekin, were gearing the 17.5's around 5.0 and using the turbo feature to compensate for the gearing, then you have tons of down low punch and the same (most of the time MORE) top end.

Just a little food for thought incase anyone was wondering about the tekin

excuse me, those other driver's were top guys also. Xray Factory driver,Hot Bodies Cyclone factory Driver and other independent top notch drivers.

are you from cali? im guessing not coz you dont seem to know who was on that video racing against the JL that night.

and just FYI...the JL-10 just took the 1st place podium finish on its 4th or 5th month out in the market against top drivers from Tamiya,Hot bodies,Xray and other car makes at the 2009 RCGT Championship held last sunday at Camarillo Raceway.

im done with this coz obviously you just dont like the JL car and you are entitled to your own oppinion. Good luck to you with your 500$ car or whatever it is you have and good day sir.

You still haven't answered my question, what makes the car better than other cars in its price range?

First of all, nobody here in this thread ever said that the JL-10 was better than any other car in its price range.

You were the one who came in here to say that its better to get a Cyclone S vs the JL-10.....so that being said, YOU were the one saying that another car is better than our JL-10

if you havent figured it out yet by all the post's here, well wow! read again pls

i myself am not saying that our JL is better than any other car out there. but i must say that the JL, can and is capable of running against top dollar car's out there in the market....and for the price why would i go for something more expensive when the JL is already doing good out of the box with just oil and spring changes against other car's that are priced way more.

Cheap,DURABLE,Great Performance and every little adjustments on the car works.?? in my book its a great car.

and for you to come in here and say another car is a better buy without even seeing a JL in person or driving one...seems a lil arrogant to me.

I posed a question with an opinion on build quality, your response was "hey look at it lapping everything else out there". Sorry but that's not a valid argument in my book, I've seen way too many variables of xxx = yyy results on the track. Just for comparison they same posts were around with the cyclone S first came out, local fast guy went out with it and was only .2th off his 416we, etc etc. Its good to see it IS capable, the hobby needs more cheap capable cars, its almost funny that the cyclone S and this car are basically what HPI first came out with when TC's started as parking lot racers, now their just a little more refined.

in the spirit of getting a new class RCGT going here in Spokane
I will be buying JL10e! already on order at the LHS!!!
I have had many xrays! I would assume set up pretty basic, droop, castor, chamber, ride height, toe are they all adjustable on this car?
any set up help would be great, from what I read looks like only shock oils and springs?
has anyone tried a spool yet?

what are the wheel options? my lhs has hpi 26mm spoked wheels in stock but are 6mm offset, is that standard?

thanks for the info
