T-Bar Lipo Safety Question?

1 Attachment(s)
Any opinions on having the lipo cell exposed outside of the chassis on the 1/12 t-bar cars. The lipo is inside the wheels offering some protection, but what would happen to the battery on a big hit to the side?

This is why they have to be in hard cases.

In reality, there isn't much more exposed then there is in a touring car or most 4wd off-road buggies.

In some 1/12 scale crashes you can break the carbon fiber chassis or pods, a hard lipo case is better than a soft case. If a hit can break carbon fiber it seems that the battery case would easily be destroyed in a big hit, could this cause any issue if the plastic case cuts into the cells in a big crash?

There will soon be a Lipo saddle pack on the market. There is a thread about it. He may be posting a picture of it this week. It's made by Gavin of Speedzone.
