If you take the top 7 just off that:

GTP MOD
Touring Rubber 17.5
Touring Rubber 13.5
Touring Rubber Mod
GTP 17.5
WGT 10.5
GTP 13.5
How awesome would the 'Birds be with this lineup!

might have more people racing if you add RCGT since in theory... someone can race Touring Sedan 17.5 and RCGT. (with one chassis)

Sorry Rick, I was just saying that for local racing, didn't mean anything neg. Just my experiance with new racers breaking the heck out of the cars when they run 13.5.
And not the topic of this thread. My bad. All previous post's edited for content.
And as for the Snowbirds lineup, that would make me not attend.

BTW this is not all about the 'birds... just a lot of talk about too many classes so thought it would be cool to see some input. Great thread really!!

Thanks,
Mike

How the heck can there be more votes for foam tire than there are foam tire racers left in the entire country? I think someone is using aliases to skew the results!

You guys need to check the results from all the recent races like snowbirds and the Nats. Foam is most def not dead, yes it might be small at the IIC but thats because its on the west coast and the economy blows. At the nats 17.5 foam was bigger than rubber, and at the snowbirds it was about the same.

Foam is still popular in the East.

My guess is 90 percent of the people weighing in on this thread have never been and dont plan on going to the snowbirds any time soon.

Exactly.

How about sending out emails to those racers that have actually attended the event in the last 2 or 3 years, and ask them what classes they would run?

It's a good thing we didn't have people like this trying to kill off 4WD electric offroad years ago when it was struggling, or racers wanting to get rid of 1/12 scale when TC's were all the rage.

I kind of missed the part that this thread was created by the organizer of Snowbirds. My opinions, unwelcome as they are, were just in general, not about a race which I probably won't get the chance to attend.

For the folks that still enjoy foam racing, and hope it'll make a comeback, is there any interest in changing the things about it that drove people away in the first place?

There are a lot of good thoughts and opinions on this thread. No intention was made to discredit any form of racing on my part, trust me. Just wanted to get some general feedback from the on-road community.... thanks for everyone's input!!!

Spec purples in tc. Purple and plaid tires were what everybody ran when foam was huge.
