Waaayyy back in the mid 90's we were paying $125.00 per 6 cell pack of 1700SCRC NiCd's that were "matched", "optimized" or "pushed".

These were good for one run per day as to keep them at their peak. You charged them, let them cool, bumped them before the race and ran them. Let them cool, discharge them on the rack and then "battery bug" them for 8 hours or more.

Soooooo.... To race a weekend and practice properly you had to have 6-8 packs. Lipo's too expensive?? HA!

I just got one of these packs through the post to try out,

Hmmm the case fits terribly. The edges of the bottom half don't really line up to the top.

"made in china"....... Could never have guessed

I'm sure the battery will be fine but for over $160 I would have thought it would be built properly

I wonder what a 6000mah 28c equates to in 5200mah?

I can tell the difference between the smc 5200 40c and the thunderpower 5000 40c

6000mah 28c = 168amps

5200mah 50c = 260amps

Just to clear things up you never ran for us. You may have used our packs but you were never sponsored by us. And we still do make a ROAR approved hard cased pack. http://www.maxamps.com/Lipo-4200SS-74-Pack.htm

My question is who really makes the SMC and Thunder Power batteries ,i believe they just buy them from a company over sea's and they just put there label on them.

So who makes them and judge it from there. So if anybody knows the company who actual makes the batteries for SMC and Thunder Power please post it.
The reason i say post the actual manufacturer is so people can compare to other packs that are similiar or made under that companies label. So they can compare price and specs

sac: the packs SMC and Thunderpower sell are made by different companies and are made specifically for SMC and Thunderpower. They have posted the company names in their respective threads

Dan: they are equal first and second charge of the day but third charge on the SMC has more rip, at least my packs

JayL

I have gone thru the threads for SMC and ThunderPower and unless i missed it .Neither of them list who actual makes there batteries.Smc batteries just say made in China. This shouldn't be a big secret because i am sure that the battery company makes batteries for other companies .I would like to compare price and spec to those other companies .

So if someone knows who the actual maker is for SMC and ThunderPower batteries please post it or PM .
