Default Best way to charge NiMh in parallel/series?

I have 2 packs of Venom 3300 7.2v NiMh packs, parallel adapter, Thunder Power 1010C charger.

What is the best way of going about charging them in parallel and in series, per settings on the 1010C charger? At 1C/2C? 3.3A/6.6A in parallel config.?

Same question but lets apply it to Li-po's this time...?

Basically, what are the rules here....
