To be honest as good as my car was I would still like to try the Novak Havok Pro exc wheen available because as nice as the Tekin is sometimes I would like to leave the laptop at home and just gear up and run. All these fance speedos are nice but something to be said about simple and just overall good working speedo. I don't always want to drag the laptop around.
Hey Wyd,

Did you change the timing on the motor? Just curious cos i'm assuming the 30 degree timing is on the speedy and not the motor. If you did change the timing on the motor what did you set it to? I'm goin to be running pretty much the same setup.

Cheers

On a medium traction 42x75 ft track, I ran 6.67 yesterday and was showing temps around 145degF. So, I can gear higher, probably to 6.25. Can you instead replace the spur to achieve these 6-7 ratios?

I used the stock factory set timing on my Ballistic. The motor itself has 30 degrees of timing. Steve Weis posted that info for me. Now like Steve said alot of people measure timing many different ways so take that info and just use it for a referance point when using Novak motors. The motor worked great for me with the stock setting.

Things are headed towards a return of the SWT Series, but for
2017 the focus will be on the Encino Velodrome (and dirt oval racing)

From what I understand, it is the same motor as before except very much thought out. All in all it is a better motor idea.

NovakTwo, I heard Novak now has graded rotors measuring 1300 or better with a gauss meter. I have 4 ballistic motors in my possession and each rotor measured under 1200. Are the graded rotors an aftermarket purchase?

Joe: Thanks for posting the photo of the dissasembled Ballistic 21.5 motor. I had only seen our exploded diagram for a guide to how it was put together.

Mrrcguy: We are selling the wound stators on-line. We are offering the modified winds, the spec winds (with colored inserts) and two light winds.

Jamie: We offered a small number of factory-magnetized graded rotors. There are none available now. But, we may offer them again in the store.

Hound: We are not claiming that the Ballistics are any faster, or higher performance, than our SS 21.5 Pro motors. But, we are inviting inputs from racers who have experience with both.

Well Novak sales are Ballistic in my area now. Had mine 2 weeks and now I had two buddies picks them up, another buddy PMed about getting one and my shop I help out at just got in two Ballistic motors and will be ordering in parts for them as well.

I don't know if the Ballistic is any faster because I never ran another Novak motor but for convience this motor has no equal right now. What other motor can you burn up the winds and order a replacement for 30 bucks!!!!!!!!!! Then buy a different wind for 30 bucks and have a motor for another class. Just excellent engineering on Novaks part and right now the leader of the pack when it comes to this motor and replacement parts. Someone was thinking when making these. Very well thought out.
