You are getting a voltage drop. Fit a cap to the reciever and it will be sorted.
Had the same issues with my EZrun 80amp in my Fusion buggy. I used a 470mfd16v cap fitted onto a servo plug and plugged into the battery channel on the reciever. Alternative is using a ubec or lipo regulater.

If using a ubec or regulater just remove the red lead from the esc lead.
suggest remove it from the plug and insulate it so you can use it again if needed. Note you need the red connected if you do esc programming of settings or firmware updates.

I have a Xerun & 3 Ezruns that I run with SR3000's

The problem you may be having is the servo drawing too much power or spiking/putting hash into the RX.
Its a Known issue, Spektrum sell a cap that connects to the RX as a fix.

I have 4 different servos I cant use with sr3000's.

Default set up for 13.5 in a low grip track

I am just wondering how to slightly soften the speedo as the car comes out of corners - I have just found it a bit too aggressive for me.

I use the 518 software.

Out of interest can the 1st gen Speed Passion LED controller be used to properly set up the Hobbywing 120A or do I require an LCD controller

I agree lol!

If you're running an 13.5, i'd lower the timing punch (15) to setting 4,5,6. (which is -3, -4, -5.) This makes the biggest difference of all, as it makes the timing ramp longer, so the car is more progressive in acceleration, rather than a surge. Also, I run timing start at setting 1 (3,000rpm) as it makes the ramp longer still and there is no lump when the timing comes in.

you could also drop DRRS (4) to 7 or lower. 7 feels a lot flatter than 8 / 9
