Default Future software issues......

Just as a word of warning to us Hobbywingers out here, had a PM from a Speed Passion guy (3300 + Posts) in reference to the LCD Programmers and the ESC's. Was a little worried so thought I would share it with you all.

Seems the days of 'free' upgrades to our ESC's is over as ~

"I wrote into the newest software code so you can't use the two. (being tested right now)"

"We're trying to separate the Speed Passion brand away from the cheap hobby city crap as much as we can"

" I know the HW stuff works, I helped write it."

"It's very apparent that the same factory makes the 2 ESC's."
~

There you have it from the horses mouth, so when the new GT2.1 software comes out be prepared for the new softwares not to work.

Also be careful with your LCD boxes as Speed Passion have had several 'bricked' and RTM'd due to 'flashing with HW software, and we don't want this happening to our LCD boxes.

Hobbywing sould have release on 7 Feb. 2010 their new 100110 for stock.Unfortunately they didn't do it untill today but i hope they will do it shortly. So we'll don't need the SP software updates. After all im waiting for the Mamba Max Pro when it will be in stock again. And for those who running stock there is always the alternative of the TeamWave RB-S.I have a lot of other things in my mind right now, so i cannot worry about this.

Find it strange that they will do something that can potentially damage poeples esc's.
Will do more harm to either brand than good.

SP make a big deal of how much better their product is. Can anyone tell me the actual differences?

The way I've been told, Hobbywing make them for SP. Is this true?

cherry this sounds to me (what the SP guy PM to you) more like a threat than a warning not to use their software.I don't think we have to worry about.

I don't think HW will release the newest software before 22 Feb. as they have the 2010 Chinese traditional new year holidays (Spring Festival) from 8th to 21th Feb and business will be resumed from 22th, Feb.
