Default S400 vs 416WE

Im thinking of making the switch form serpent to tamiya (becassue they just discontinued the s400)

Anyone have experience with both cars?

Is the tamiya as easy to drive, easy to set up and as durable as the s400?

Right now im running the s400 with a gear diff, tamaiya shocks and a special top deck and the car is amazing - thats why im a little weary of switching.

I've just switched to a Tamiya about a month and a half ago. Running every week on a carpet track with pretty solid boards the only part I've broken was one c-hub, and that was my fault with a silly driving mistake which would have broken any car!

Aside from that, I've had plenty of knocks and nothing else is damaged, the car remains consistent from run to run and its certainly by far the best quality I've seen in a car.

Default What happened with the S400?

Granted when the S400 first came out, I was like yawn , but didnt think Serpent would just neglect its customers with poor parts support and mediocre customer service. Now that they are developing a new ride, where will they develop trust? In this economy, good luck. 416 all the way.

both the handling r quite similiar. default setup of 416we give more steering respond. pity, serpent killed most of their supporters.

yeah ive got 4 gear diffs, 3 vesa top decks, 2 sets of tamiya shocks that randy caster ran on his serpent and about 500 dollars in other spares

Im going to do a side by side comparison over the next week or so. If im as fast with the 416, ill definently be putting my stuff up for sale - wont be hard to do though, Im pretty slow

S400 and Trf416we dont have similarity at all....S400 only good in high flowing track and struggling in technical track while Trf416we can good in both technical and high flowing track...

u try run your car with trf416we in a technical track, u will feel the PITA.....i tried and i made up my mind and switch to other kit(yokomo).....

just my 2cents opinion...
