Riiiiiiiight, I do not base my opinions on others, thats just lame.

I may not have driven the car, but I didn't comment on the handling or speed or what of the car, I just said, that thing must be fragile. I wouldn't even get the chance to race a pro 3 with that many hop ups on it anyways.

Well I never liked my Pro2 as much as my Pro, the car just never seemed to have the speed or hanlding to match.

As for the Pro3, I have never driven one, but looking at the pro's car says alot to me.

Billy Easton, Mark Pavidas.... basically stock FT TC3.
Musami's MR4... Basically stock MR4 pro, and now basically stock MR4 special.
Hara's worlds champ MR4, Basically stock MR4 pro.

Hara's Pro3... about the same amount in hop-ups as the car costs..... of course Hara is sponcered by all the companies that make the hop-ups, but he must really feel he needs them if he really never ran the car in stock form......

JUST AN OPINION>>>>>>

I have owned the Original Pro, Pro2, and the flexy flyer [the pro3]

The Original Pro and Pro2 both have insanely difficult diff access thus I can not reccomend either car. The Original Pro and the Pro2 were EXTREMELY DURABLE

The flexy flyer was a good idea, but poor execution. The car has a fundamental design flaw, Flex!. HPI could learn a lot from studying the TC3 chassis. Woven graphite plate is a fashon statemnt like parachute pants and leg warmers of the 1980's. Leave them in the past. HPI needs a STRONGER composite, especially one that does not weaken with repeated exposure to heat from the cells!

If I had to reccomend a car today I would say TC3 Racer. You simply do not need the Team kit goodies nor the graphite goodies of the Factory Team kit. You do need the BRP bumper and nerf wings though.

I would also suggest the XXX-S. Build it and race it. Nothing else needed.

I would also look at the Tamiya TB Evo II. Notice I did not say TA-04! the TA-04 is basically a Pro2 with "Tamiya" molded in instead of "HPI"

DR.DIFF--- My how we change our tune in a few short months...LOL

But, I am afraid I need to disagree with you, there are several differences from the pro2 and the TA04...you see I own the R version, and I used to own the Pro2.

1) Diff access
04- 4 bolts, pop-off one chamber rod and one shock end, and that baby is in your hands
Pro2- 4 bolts, pop off one chamber rod and one shock end, then 3 more bolts, then 2 more bolts, then remove the bulkhead, make sure you don't loose those gay belt adjusters, then the diff is in your hand.

2) acceleration
04- gearing for top end doesn't loose too much acceleration
pro2- you need more top end....well there goes your acceleration

3) diffs and shocks
04- smooth, and stay smooth
pro2- hope you feel like working with them

4) adjustments
04- slightly less adjustable, but the car handles so well you don't need anymore than you get
pro2- you have more, but more ways to screw up the car and most the adjustments don't even seem to make a difference

5) tweak
04- all the parts are "keyed" to one another, no changes even in the most violent wrecks
pro2- shrugs off most hits, but the really rough ones tweak the chassis

----- in all fairness, if you hit anything hard enough to tweak the chassis on either car, you probably broke something, but both cars are very tough!!!

Stating that the TA04 is a Tamiya RS4 is unfair, we could go through and name about 150 cars that have more than a passing resemblence to the RS4 series, each would have many similarities, and a few differences......

I can't argue much about the TA-04 vs the Pro2 as I have never had my hands on the TA-04. But what can you say when the parts from the Pro2 bolt directly on to the TA-04. Heck, Tamiya R&D'ed the car with Pro2 parts! Another HPI clone is the Traxxas 4tech. It is basically a clone of the Original Pro. You can also use Original Pro parts on it.
