My experience as of recent with the ltc-r is that it has more steering then the Speed 6 but with at least the same rear downforce if not a little more. Not a body shell to run if your a regular Mazda 6 guy without setup changes. If you like the Speed-6,you will like this body because the handling characteristics are similar, but a little more aggressive off center and has increased mid corner speed for me.Your experience may differ.

what can i do to my car to compensate for the lack of rear grip with the LTC-R shell then ??

upsets me seeing a new shell on the wall un-battle scarred

the rest are almost destroyed !!!!!

I drove indoor with the R9-F on rubber. I use that one some times also outdoors when i'm on a high traction track. Now I have also the Speed 6.
Not as much steer as the R9 but the car feels good.
My fastest lap is still with the R9-R.
+1

I love R-9 body. Awesome steering. My favorite body period.

I also have run LTC-R and its pretty good. Rear end is exactly like Mazdaspeed 6, Front is like a softened R-9. I like this body for highspeed track. Stable on highspeed sweepers and responsive when things get tight. Oh and it sure looks cool

Here is a pic of my LTC-R on my EVO5MS

Hello paraletic,

Cuting out the hole's on the bottom of the wing I dont think it changes the handling. it just cuts down on drag on straights.I've been trying it on my car with no I'll effects on handling. If you have a spare wing cut one out and give it a try.

Hope this helps
Mike

What affect does this inflict? i havnt done that yet too mine.
does it channel the air thru the wing more or relieve some down force etc?

I can get the speed 6 body fairly easily, so was wanting too know will i have too re do my set up too suit the body or will the car react/act fairly similar.

Im quite happy with how my car runs at the moment but just the problem of getting shells.

Is there another alternate shell that is ROAR legal that will be similar too the LTC-R.

I run on an open/large outdoor asphalt track

Cheers.

Like most respondents I find the LTC shell does perform better in the steering and stability department. I did compare the LTC and Stratus 3.0 back to back without any setting change, the result I noticed that the LTC provides for a sharper turn in with minor but predictable oversteering and more stable on the straights over the 3.0. IMO.
