Default KO BMC vs SP GT2.0 vs LRP SXX

i run modified class using 3.5r motor. now i want to buy one of these ESC:
KO BMC (or Orion Vortex Race)
Speedpassion GT2.0 Pro (Blue Star)
LRP SXX

i've read the thread for KO BMC, SP GT2.0, and SXX but still confuse which one is the best for 3.5r motor.
i also read the similar thread few pages back but people suggested Tekin RS pro which is not in my list. so i make this thread to limit the comparison to only those 3 ESC.
please help me to choose.
thanks.

If these were my choices, I would pick only 2 of them, and that decision falls to ease of operation.

The LRP is a set and forget ESC. It is pre-programmed, and can only be changed to other profile and braking settings within itself. Choose your program and race.

The KO is another great ESC, but it will require you to carry a laptop with you and purchase the additional, not included, KO PC Interface. The KO ESC can be custom tailored to your liking, but a little testing will be required to get the most from it, but once you get it set right, it will be fast.

When it comes to the warranty and service, KO will have better service than LRP in the event of some type of failure.

So there you go, LRP = Fast and Simple, KO = Fast and Less Simple.

thanks for the quick response.

how about reliability issue?
i've seen some KO BMC stop working here at my local track (modified class).
i don't know this is caused by "terrible" driving style or esc defect.

speedpassion gt2.0 pro seems fine (no trouble) but not as fast as KO, is it true?

Some guys I know did a drag race one had the KO and the other the GT2.0.. these cars are identical even the gearing was the same... Raced to 200feet the GT 2.0 smoked the KO on bottom end but around the 125foot mark the KO absolutly blisted the GT 2.0's butt.... So I guess it depends on how long the straights are on your track also....

Some other guys i race with put there motors on a dyno that race in 13.5 rubber one a tekin rs pro, one a gt 2.0, and the Ko...

rs pro - ran 7900 kv
ko - 9000kv those numbers alone tell the truth
GT 2.0 - 7500kv

thanks Alex.
i've read your thread and unfortunately Tekin is not an option for me.

yes i know KO+fan+ICS adapter is the most expensive ESC on the market today. i hope its performance is equal to its price.

but i still have to know whether KO is reliable enough or not. because i dont want my $200++ ESC stop working suddenly during race.

Ive heard of some being sent back to KO but not many... Ive hear dnothing but great things one the GT 2.0.. Heard nothing but GREAT things about the tekin.... LRP's in my mind are crap...

2 guys at our track had to send their LRp's back the same day they baught em... Pluged in their 7.4V lipo and nothing but smoke... then it took LRP 3 months to get them back out... So in the mean time if they wanted to run they had to buy yet another Speedo...

Ill never buy anything LRP but thats just me...

When you say "stop working" is it a temperature/ voltage cut of a permanent damage to the esc??? We are know what we are getting when we buy Ko... top of the line products...
The last time I saw a Ko esc fail is when my mate forgot to switch off his esc and plugged the charger on his batteries with the esc wires still on t and pushed charge..

Hey mate the software is FREE for download on the Ko propo website...
and if you want Kopropo u need to pay for it and its not cheap. Its like the price you pay for a TRF416 compared to a TC5... Drive the world champ car or the cheap stuff...

i mean permanent damage.
i know KO is good product and a lot of people here use it.
but i've seen 1 KO esc fail suddenly and sent back to KO for repair. haven't seen SP GT2.0 fail yet.

i'm also wondering why KO is not popular at the world championship..

+3 for the ko.

can't be beat. I love the fact that they are soo tunable. yes, a little more work to get every little but out of the motor you are running. but I like the fact that I can get that little bit that you can't get out of any other speedo.

there are about 10 bmc at our track and not one went back due to failure

are you located in the US? cus if you are, you're in for a treat if you get a Ko BMC. customer service is top notch. having Ko Propo USA very close to my house is nice.

whereas other companies are not even located in Southern California.
