Default 3PK Radio question...

Whats the difference between the Megatech 3PK and the Futaba 3PK? The Megatech box has "Futaba" on it as well as Megatech, and the screen for the Megatech 3PK actually says "Futaba" when its turned on. So whats the difference?

Thanks...

Darkseid

Thats pretty much what I thought. But I had heard that Futaba here in the US wouldn't handle the warranty issues of the Megatech units. Anybody know if thats true?

I would go ahead and buy the Futaba Magnum version just to be safe. They are both the same, they just have cosmetic differences such as writing and/or stickers.

Proficar403: They are both the same, except that the Megatech units go for about $50 less than the Futaba Magnum units.

Megatech-$239-$259 on ebay brand new

Futaba-$299-$329 at online shops

Well thanks for the answers guys. I think I've found out everything I needed to know.

I read that somewhere before too. Ultimately, it all depends on how much you're willing to pay for the warranty.
I've had my 3PK droped 3 feet to the ground twice... no problem!!
Stronger than my S705!

Oh here is something you can try, why don't you e-mail futaba USA and tell them that you have a 2 months old 3PK that you bought in Hong Kong, ask them if they can fix it for you.!
Just a little test before you make the purchase!?

Oh sorry, didn't mean to rub it in!
Its nice to be in Hong Kong, but the tracks suck, and there are no indoor tracks.. not carpet anyway...

This is what I was told when i bought mine, There is no US warranty with the Megatech version and it doesn't come with a rechargable pack like the US version. I know for a fact the first part is true but not the other part!

This new Titanium Black version with the new steering wheel certainly temps me. Very, very nice. Why doesn't cool stuff like that hit the US as quickly as Asia???

So, so nice!
