helios lovers please sell me on this, i currently use a jrxs3 pro and im always looking to upgrade, im looking at a jr z1(wich ofcourse is the ex10) other than the fact i can upgrade to dsm in the future what else makes this radio worth ditching my xs3 pro.

I don't miss my JR XS3 at all...Helios with Spektrum is far superior.

Smoother action on both steering and trigger for my electric cars...TC and 1/12th. Have the drop steering wheel option angled all the way out which is way better for my ergonomics.

And Spektrum is the other half of the equation.

I ditched my JR for a Helios. The Helios is more comfortable and it has a quicker response time (especially good for carpet racing).

The first time I ran with the Helios, I turned in early on every corner for the first couple of laps.

I just received my Helios Competition and it did not come with the gold wheel. My concern is that it is not the Competition version of the Helios, which also has a slightly different module I guess. Is there a visual difference in the module on the Competition version...a difference I could see? Or a visual difference on the radio itself. My concern is that I got the older version radio and not the Competition that I paid for. Also is the receiver that comes with the Competition version the carbon fiber one or not? Mine was not carbon fiber but that might be right. I got the drop down wheel with the radio just no gold wheel and that started to make me wonder if I got the right radio, the label on the box says it's the Competition version.

Thanks

yea the competition model comes with carbon fibre look reciever. so that means you probably have the old module along with the old reciever. but strange that you got the drop down wheel extension.

http://www.kopropo.com/New_transmitter.htm
it says the new module will only be available in the US or is it saying that the actual competition model will only be avaliable in the US ?

is your helios 27mhz?

The XS3 is a good radio. But with that being said, the helios/z-1 is heads and feet above the XS3 in every way. I went from the XS3 to the Z-1, and the z-1 made the car/driver connection feel a lot more solid (i.e. when I wanted to turn the car turned almost instantly, etc). The program adjustibility is easy and you can be far more precise in setting up your car. As mentioned by others, the ergonomics is probably the best I have felt and the drop down module just makes it all the better.

If you are racing competively, this radio is an awesome investment. Why get the best motors/escs/batteries/servos for your car and have only an ok radio? If you just bash around a parking lot, this radio might be a bit much.

The competition should come with the gold wheel, gold screws and wheel extension. The recevier should be the regular BLACk version, not the carbon fiber version. I would contact the dealer that you purchased the radio from.

no problem. I'm sure you'll love the new performance in your hands. Yes it is that much faster than the XS3.

Doesn't that depends on what equipment and what car you are running??

Hi. I just bought a Helios with a Spektrum and it is absolutely fantastic! I have two question though, how can you turn the buzzer off completely? I only managed to change the tone to a quiter sound. And if you are running with a Spektrum and an analog servo (PS-2714FET), can you set the Helios to AHRS mode, or does it still have to be set to SHRS as per the manual's instructions?
