Hi,

Racers Edge has a nice hard case that will work for the Helios. I think I paid $48.00 for mine. but for club racing I carrry both of ours in a small Assoc bag in the T3 boxes inside. I use the lower piece the the radio sits from the box it came in and H ave some apsce for extra Batteries, crystals (in the JR servo boxes) and my spare hand grip.

Also what is the turn around time on repairs for the Helios???? I have one that neeeds the pc board replaces where the antenna attaches replaced.

Thanks

Team Magic Makes a great bag for the Helios or any other radio.
www.speedtechrc.com has them. They also make a pit box that is awsome. You can find it under special tools page.
Hope this helps (HTH)

So that would be minimum inside dia. I would need in a case?

I think this one will do if it's big enough

Yes that is a perfect case for the Helios. It is indeed very nice, so nice that I'm going to order one for myself!

It looks the same as the one at Racers Edge at half the price. Vanguard makes tons of different cases. I knew I could find one they made that would fit. I wanted a bright, brushed alum but they are all to thin. This more expensive one looks cool but dunno if it's worth twice the money

Don't know if you all know this yet or not, but the Hellios radio works with the JR XS3 Receiver, the R300 and R310.

Does anyone know what cyrstals i can use other than KO in my Helios?

Regarding radio bags speedmind has a nice lookong one goes for around $30. & what crystals might work I not sure but if you are using the jrxs receiver one guy used the jr crystal as a back up & it worked.

Performence devices makes crystals that work great, and are cheaper then ko ones (about half). 75 or 27 band

I have only used ko xtals in mine because i feel they are the only ones that work well in the h responce mode. BTW, i run on 27 band.

Thanks for the info I did not think about P.D. O well, I ordered TX crystals from every radio manufacture, so we will see which brands will work.

on 27 band, JR FM crystals will NOT work with Helios (Tx or Rx). However, JR crystals work fine in 75 band. Go figure.

And how would KO crystals work better in 'HRS' mode? that makes no sense, Radio, Tx module and Rx determine HRS, only thing the crystal does is to 'tune' your radio to X frequency. Other then single/dual conversion, positive/negative shift of crystal, it's just part of an electrical circuit. It's not like brand X's crystal processes signal faster then brand Y

WOW, thats not the norm. usualy 27 mhz works in anything. I just figure if the Helios works with a JR receiver then the JR x-tals have to work. we will see soon.
