Best servo for a sedan?

I have run airtronics servo's for the longest time, and thought they were fine until I switched to a JR in my 12th scale (which previously had had problems wandering down the straight and such, and I had gone through around 6 servo's, so it wasnt one bad servo). My sedan however, still has that same problem, and trust me its not the car, its defently something else, and I assume the servo.

What other top of the line servo's are out there besides the airtronics ones? (i am mainly looking for part #'s, lol), and I have a M8, so that will limit me from the new KO's.

I love the JR 8450, and run that only in my steering in all my cars/trucks.

I run both the JR Z8450 and Z8550. Very fast and plenty of torque for a TC. These are the digital servos from JR. Before digital I ran the JR 4735 and had very good experiences with them too.

You can't go wrong with any of these servos.

buy some spare "sacrificial" gears
http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/prod...p?prod=JRPSGB2

replace them after every season & you'll never have a problem

I also agree, JR Z8450.

I've run mine for 2 1/2 years in sedan and still works just like it did when it was new....awesome.

My favorite is the S9550 futaba, low profile so it gives more electronics space in the car.

Storm, why can't you run a KO with your M8? I've run a KO with my Caliber. Just curious.

Ko Propo PDS-2143FET for your sedan.

Ko Propo PDS-947FET for your 1/12.

They are both reliable and excellent servo...no problem to date with mine...

I use an Airtronics M8, but love KO servos. I use the PDS-2123 (holy crap it's fast!) in my Xray and a PDS-947 in my Hyperdrive 1/12. I've yet to have any problems, gotta say they work well!

JR 8450 is awesome for a steering servo in a sedan. I've tried several different servos and nothing beats the 8450.

pro3racer 01-06-2004 04:37 PM

i have an Airtronics 94257 servo. I launched my car off a rumble strip, and striped the hell out that one plastic gear in it(all but one gear in the servo is metal). Is there a place to get one single gear, or do i have to buy the whole set?

stormperson 01-06-2004 05:14 PM

Thanks to everyone who posted something, I really apprecaite it. And it looks like I am going with a JRZ8450.

The reason why you cant use the new digital KO servo's, or so I was told was because they are too fast or have a different signal that only works with their digital radio's.
