Default What's happened to Novak?

What's happened to Novak?

More specifically, why haven't they replaced the GTB with a new, adjustable/programmable, ESC...? When it comes to racing at a competitive level now, nobody even considers Novak anymore. Sure, you still see some club racers running them, but...... So, has Novak thrown in the towel???

The GTB has been out so long, they have even discontinued the 4-cell GTB. Looking back at the days Brushed motors were around, Novak had a new ESC just about every 1-2 years. They even had PC software to program the ESC's back with the Cyclone and Atom ESC's....

Also, what happened to other cool supporting stuff like Chargers, Power Supplies, Radio Modules, Discharge trays, etc... I have a old Novak N-Power 10A power supply that works great.

Seems like Novak has been focusing only on Motors, niche ESC's, or small electronics like LiPo Receiver Boosters or Regulators.

I'm a little disappointed with Novak right now, so I hope they have some cool stuff in the works.

Well, I've heard rumors that they are working on a high end brushless esc, but rumors are rumors. Hope they are, competetion always makes things improve.

Sorry to HiJack on here but my question goes along with the topic. The Novak GTB ESC. what is the diffrence between the GTB and the standard ESC that comes with the Novak Havoc kits (I have the 21.5) ive heard people say its better then the standard for racing but I dont see what the diffrence is. I see the same settings as the standard ESC so whats the big deal? I enjoy Novak products and im sure they got somthing in the works. The big thing was the Novak Havoc packages. now thats sucessful they can move on to the next thing

w/o going to the www.teamnovak.com web site and pulling up the specs, I believe the GTB has quite abit LESS "On" resistance, giving it a better performance ability with lower wind motors.

The HAVOC however, if I'm not mistaken has a better set up for using both BRUSHED and BRUSHLESS motors with an autodetect the GTB's don't have.

You can find ALL the specs on the NOVAK products on the NOVAK website, or email or call NOVAK Customer Service or Steve Weiss.

Things are headed towards a return of the SWT Series, but for
2017 the focus will be on the Encino Velodrome (and dirt oval racing)

I'm a novak fanatic I'm still running my GTB it is still competitive ESC, down side I'm really seeing is the size. Now with the TC chassis is getting narrower it's really becomming a problem.

I'm still hoping for them to come out with new ESC. Maybe we can get this thread and give them a boost.

I don't think every person who owns a TC races spec class and needs to squeeze every RPM they can out of their motor. Those people would probably rather save the $ and buy a novak esc.

I don't really think anything has 'happened.' A GTB was running pretty well where I raced last weekend. Almost TQ'd. And this was in USVTA where there are occasional rumblings about banning dynamic timing ESCs.

Its also nigh impossible to beat the Havok for the price.

I think the reason we're seeing fewer and fewer GTBs is that fact that there is a large contingent of racers that just have to have the latest and 'greatest.'

It sucks that they have been a little behind on high end 1/10 electronics. Maybe it's better that way. With the explosion of speedo software the last year, they sort of let things blow up and then settle down. Perhaps a speedo released now would have a slightly longer shelf life.

I emailed them several years ago about re-releasing the Millenium Pro with a lipo update. I would have bought two or three. Oh well.

Was it an honest "off the shelf" piece?
Hate to bring up the conspiracy thing, but it's cool either way.
