Default Novak brushless ?

Has anyone used the Novak SS system in an HPI Pro3?
any recommendations for spur and pinion gearing and setups?
Thanks.

i have used both but never together.i guess it's as close as u can get around here.

For gearing,if u're using rubber tyres on asphalt:
try 6.8-7.0.no need to change the gearing if u're switching between profiles.

Setups:
I'd say pink front and blue springs rear.30wt oils.I hope u have the rest of the setups bcos that's all i can remember.
I suggest getting a Hotbodies upperdeck or HPI upperdeck for better response.

As for the BL,dont worry if u get thermal shutdowns.try using a fan(5V) on the ESC.

Thanks Lee,
I was going to start with a 27 tooth pinion and a 84 tooth spur - 6.99 final ratio.
I've got the Hot Bodies upper deck as well as the HPI graphite main chassis, any idea where to get a fan for the speed control?

Thanks

my friend wants to get a BL, and he wants to know what the novak motor is equivelant to a brush motor. He was thinking a 12 turn, i thought that was alittle too fast.

If you look 3 or 4 pages back there is a thread "Novak Super Sport Brushless system" and it should answer most of ur queries.

What's good about the the Novak Brushless is the is it has 6 selectable throttle programs. I suggest spending the bucks(not that much nowadys anyway) and spend teh first 3 monthe on the Sportsman profile which limitys its to something similar to a stock 27turn but still has the blistering punch of the unlimited profile whicj is probably the hardest thing to get used to. In Unlimited form the Novak is comparable to a good 12 or 13 turn.

Brushless is the future!!!!!! Better recognise

the punch/torque is crazy fast.
i would compare it to a 12-14T machine mod.
it's not exactly as fast in top end as those pro 12T's that are used in competitions...
but as i said, the torque is so crazy it makes up for a lot of lost ground.

.....and @ quite alot of tracks the top end is not an issue coz your already @ the end of a short straight before they catch up to you.
