11.1 (rubber) vs 10.1 (foam)

To put it another way...

13.5 foam is faster than mod rubber.

Actually I think at the 2007 IIC Stock Foam TQ was 10 seconds faster then Mod rubber. At my track we run 17.5 Foam and Rubber and the difference is between .6-1 second.

More traction = faster laps, even with a much slower motor, as Rob pointed out. You carry much more speed through the turn when you aren't sliding and scrubbing off speed.

Does a rubber car spin the tires under acceleration (even a little bit)? That would be more time lost to the foam car.

Depends who is driving each .

We have run 13.5 rubber against 17.5 foam and they haven't been too far off.

Foam is for people who like quicker lap times, and dont mind resetting their droop screws / gearing as the tyres wear...

Foam is better for your wallet.
Rubber is harder to drive but i love it more and foam is not for TC cars.
Foam drives to easy. I love to work on my setup to get my car right and than try to go as fast as possible and to get as many as grip of the tires there is.

In America every body is driving on foam but you don't see many drivers back at the world championship. Here you see Europeans and Asian drivers that always drive on rubber.
And i don't say that American drivers are no good drivers, but is believe that as they drive more on rubber that you will see more American racers at the top in the big races. I believe that there are a lot of great drivers in America and as they drive more on rubber and bigger tracks, than they will be even better.

But this is my opinion.
