Joyce Park like IndyRC posted above is a HUGE track, and I did watch some large sanctioned races featuring both 1/10 nitro and 1/8 nitro. It was a few years ago, but from what I remember some of the 1/8 were getting clocked at just a tad over 68-70 MPH at the end of the straight. The track has wide lanes and is fairly flowing depending on the layout used.

I see some of these 1/10 electric TC's easily hitting in the 60's with the proper gearing, LiPo, and a low-turn motor. Surely that would be fast enough to enjoy on a large track like this?

And I figured Hallenbeck raced his 1/8 there

+1, I race in the UK on one of the dying clubs that use foam indoors. 40 shore all round, additive for the first round only, then the groove is there.

Have you tried using a 13.5 on a track thats only.....

10x15m????

The track is only about 1.5m wide in its widest areas, so passing someone is a buzz and you have to give it 110% focus, or you are in the boards and out the game.

Even 13.5 is a handful for this track, but it IS fun!

My point is, it doesnt matter what size the track is (unless its stupidly huge) there is always going to be a comfortable zone for usable power.

Any more and the car comes close to being un-race able, and wears out quickly....

And wheres the sense in that?! - At any level of competition....

Thats what we do and it works well, although most only go down to a 4.0 with 5cell

The reason why I think we dont see more TC mod driver's?

Paul Lemieux.

When you TQ and win every major US modified race for a full calendar year it discourages the other hobbyists.

The rules for Mod TC should be altered so that anyone named after a famous hockey player should be banned from competition.

Problem solved.

Why don't we let Bernie Eckelstone and Max Mosley make the rules!?

Shoot, then we'd all be running 4.5s with a budget of $1000 for the year I'd have to cut my mechanic or just feed him mac and cheese instead of Outback Steak. And what about my race winnings. They take HOW MUCH!!! No thanks. There isn't enough TV coverage as it is anyway

Mod speeds with KERS?!

Imagine what the wear rate on a spool and outdrives would be like then...

Oh and if you're racing in the UK, you will be heading to a different track in 2010...

Once the series splits, The FOTA guys will be back in Silverstone. It's one of the BEST track on the circuit! FIA will soon be a thing of the past. Majority rules... F1 will still be but just another name. And I bet it will be even better once the control Nazis are gone.

Silverstone = BORING.

Donington = AWESOME

Just going down craner curves makes the entire silverstone circuit seem BORING

Some things in F1 will never be forgotten though, Silverstone included.... I've seen Damon Hill race for Arrows at Silverstone, legend.

Oops, back on topic now!...

You have CLEARLY never been on either track then have you..

and me speaking from EXPERIENCE will tell you, unless you're in a formula 1 car the corners are BORING

Where as craner curves in my dads old 500hp Group N Sierra Cosworth touring car at 120+mph was far more interesting

Also if I get the opportunity then I will be driving Donington in a friends 250 twin cylinder shifter kart (with long circuit body) Happy days
