Novak GTB and LRP TC drag brake problem
 

I tried to setup drag brake for these two ESCs and I found out the intensity is very different. The min level in LRP is much stronger than max level in GTB. I thought it may be motor's problem, so I swapped them, but still the same. By the way I used brushless motors (Trinity Duo 17.5 and Novak SS17.5)in two different cars (TC3 and TA05R). I will try to put them in different cars to see if there is any difference. But did anyone discover this problem? Is it the reason some people like one over the other? or I have setup the ESC wrong?

Did you do the esc radio set up properly?Or are you using two different radios on both esc.

This esc are mostly use for touring so the drag brake too much can burn ur motor.So i cant help you much as normally we use zero drag in our place here.

I don't think you set it up wrong. I think its just two different esc's from two different manufacture's. One just designed more breaking into there speedo then the other.:weird::nod:

I hope so and that is what I thought about these two ESCs. I will try to swap these two between two cars and see if car's design has anything about this issue. Now GTB is in TC3 with Novak 17.5 and LRP is in TA05R with Trinity Duo 17.5, different drivetrain but I am expecting similar result.

I run dirt and the brake on my GTB esc is very weak

anyone else? my friend also has weak brake on his gtb

My GTB is a bit soft too even though I have the brakes on max...thought it isn't so soft that the car rolls on when full brakes are applied, just it takes a few milliseconds to really hault. Just had to change my driving style of turns though and it is ok. I thought it was something to do with my GTB but seems like brakes are not its strongest point. Still love the ESC though.

I am using Novak GTB 4.5T last time. The drag brake sucks hence the car slides. However I change the ori black rotor to sintered as recommended by Novak. Hence the drag brake does improves.
