Default What's the perfect size for 1/12 tires?

I am curious to know what is the perfect size racers would want their 1/12 tires to be out of the package? Most companies start around 1.90 rear and 1.80 front. Would you like to see them smaller or bigger? What size would work for you? What size do you think would work for other racers at your local track? So please post your ideal size and if you race on carpet or tarmac. Thank you.

No one has a thought on what size 1/12 tires should be?

Well that depends on a few things, so perfect for Mike Blackstock or Mike Dumas, might not be perfect for you.

Fortunately, most people run "races" with tires around a specific range. Fronts between 41-42mm, Rears between 43-44mm, and most run a stagger in Front to Rear height of 1.5-2.0mm.

When it comes to club racing though, I've seen people race with a much wider range of tires, Fronts 39-45mm, Rears 41-47mm.

Depends from surface, basicaly you will want to have more rubber on your tires for low traction tracks and less for high traction. Just ask the best drivers at your club what sizes are they using at your track.

For carpet, 1.75 rears and 1.65 fronts is a good starting place.
