CORALLY SWEEPS THE South Australian State Titles

Super Stock 10.5
Rhys Marshall - 1st place - Phi 09
Darryl Khemlani - 2nd place & T.Q. - Phi 09

Stock 17.5
James Ainslie - 1st place & T.Q. - Phi 09
Alex Ilievski - 5th place - Phi 09

After locking in the T.Q spots in the touring car classes yesterday, Corally drivers Rhys Marshall, Darryl Khemlani and James Ainslie made it a clean sweep of both classes with the new PHI 09

In Super Stock it was a tightly fought battle between T.Q man Darryl and 2nd Qualifier Rhys Marshall. In the first final the win went to Darryl Khemlani with Rhys second however in the 2nd Final the results were flipped. This meant that it all came down to the last final which Rhys put in a solid drive after an early mistake to take 2nd with Darryl ending up behind Rhys which resulted with Rhys taking the win and becoming the 2009 S.A Super stock champion, well done Rhys for his win and Darryl for 2nd place and some entertaining driving.

In stock I was able to win 5 out of 6 Qualifiers and lock in the T.Q spot by Saturday night. In the finals I was able to win the first two finals and lock in the win and become the 2009 S.A Stock title holder. The 3rd final I decided to sit out and enjoy the win and watch and enjoy my fellow competitors duke it out for the remaining positions.

A great result for the Aussie team and the new PHI 09 at it’s first title event in Australia. The car is very consistent at being able to put in quick times with consistency results over 5 minute runs as low as .17sec

Photos to come soon,

Any chance of getting setups.

I am in the process of setting my '09 up for Stock 17.5 but am having trouble with rear traction it is a little better after a few changes yesterday but not enough for me to want to leave my old car and race my new Phi '09.

Yes, for sure I will have some set ups posted soon, what surface are you running on ?

This was on asphalt and the car was excellent.

We run on an asphalt track which is setup on an old set of netball courts.

Guys, I just got my Phi 09 and was looking into some of the options that are available and was wondering what is the difference between running the big vs small pulleys? I know it changes the internal gear ratio but what else does it do in terms of handling?

Thanks in advance...

Brad johnson swears on the big pulleys he say it adds steering. It also changes driveshaft angle.

Hi,

On the 08 Phi i am a huge fan of the 36 tooth pulleys, when using the 36t pulleys it changes the wheel base to short wheel base, and i felt it locked in the rear end plus made the car very nimble.
I have tried it on my 09 and didnt like it as much, made the car a little to unsettled on a large track but i am keen to give it another try on a smaller track.
You also need a different rear belt to run it but its worth a try.

Rhys

Default please help

hi guys,

i posted this in the corally RDX forum but it seems a lot more read the 09 one so i hope its ok i put it here too and since most of you probably had previous models.....

I just bought an unused 2007 corally RDX Phi with 3.5 novak motor, GTB speedy, Spektrum Rx and Hitec digital servo. i still need to get batteries for it. was thinking the 3800 intellect lipo's or maybe the 5000's.

One quick question though. The front diff is a one way and i hate it. Our track has way too tighter turns for a one way so i just cant brake enough without losing control. is there any way to lock the one ways? do they fit in the rear. since i have a standard diff in the rear i wsa thinking lock the one way and switch the front and rear diffs around. unless someone wants to do a swap for a normal diff? i'm in Australia though......

also, where is the best online place to buy corally parts from? No shops anywhere near me deal with them.

thanks in advance
Alex
