Default On-road classes

Ok, guys,.... please don't shoot me, but I've sorted through tons of information and still feel a little empty,.....

I'm looking at getting into on-road; locally VTA and RCGT, which both have pretty well defined rules that are easy to find.

I'm looking at any other classes I can use the same chassis for, so that I can perhaps pick up a couple of different power packages / etc. so that I can race the same chassis anywhere I go (I travel quite a bit)

I've heard of the JMGT (I think Japanese Mini GT), and the "TC" but not sure of the affiliations, or where I can get a list of the standard rules.

Any help would be appreciated, and maybe this can all be compiled for further reference for the idiots like me

Thanks!
Wayne

Wayne, most all on-road 10th scale racing is kinda lumped under the TC (touring car) name. VTA and RCGT are just a form of TC racing. TC generally refers to any 10th scale, all wheel drive whether it be electric or nitro.
So...your choices are the same whether you race VTA and RCGT or you wish to race TC according to ROAR rules (www.roarracing.com) or possibly run one of the manufacturer specific programs ie: Tamiya Challenge Series(TCS) (www.tamiyausa.com) or HPI Challenge(www.hpiracing.com). Quite obviously there are many good chassis to choose from including older designs which may still be very competitive without breaking your bank account. Ask around, anybody whos been racing for awhile can suggest some cars to pick from.

Really the only 10th scale class that isnt under the purview of wither USVTA or RCGT is the WGT class for 200mm 10th pan cars. It doesnt have as big a following as the other two but it is a class that does have interest.

Thanks guys

I've picked up a xxx-s chassis for now, and am looking at a TC-4 as well. The xxx-s I picked up isn't running a spec motor, but I'll keep it anyway I like the scale, and think it'll be a blast, I can't wait to get to racing .

Great choice for VTA or RCGT !! I've got 3 xxx-s g+ cars in my stable. Easy to work on and still easy to get parts for. Good Luck and if you're ever in Florida, c'mon by and see us. You'll fit right in.

I can't wait to get up there, see you guys soon
