Default Best ESC

Yer I know I will get flamed as every body hates these but the search function doesn't allow me to search "best"

So my question is what is the quickest ESC on the market right now, I am currently running TC Spec but there will be faster out there. Will be used with a couple of different 17.5

BTW Money is no object

Hi Matt,

I think the Speed Passion competition 2.0 ESC and the LRP SXX TC spec.
LRP esc you can pick one up from rcmart for $230USD so its like $310AUD shipped to Aus.
For SP rcmodel has them for $175USD so around $250AUD shipped to Aus.
If your looking in AUS rchobbies has the SP for $300 and $350 at Metro Hobbies. LRP is like $430-460 anywhere in AUS.

The SP has more tuning options than the LRP. Ryan Maker goes well with the SP.

Cheers,

Chris

Tekin RS fo'shizz! Most fine-tunable, adjustable, bulletproof hardware, reliable, no fatigueing hardware problems that plague SP & Novak, not blowing up on the second week as the SPX's currently are, best supporting HOTWIRE software, harness avail for approx $40 callapsing USD's street, no need to replace when new revisions are developed, just download new updates from the site automatically with the HOTWIRE supporting software (prototype sofware always in development by the team and there friends), more timing advancement than any other esc on the market, cheaper than the competition (approx $160 callapsing USD's Street), smaller footprint than competition(nearly quantum size!), lighter! ( tc's have weight issues on the radio side now that lipo's are common), handles upto a 5.5 turn motor, no sweat!, Pro version avail for $30 more: same esc & hardware more FETs slightly taller (Slight!), Tekin's the most innovative esc company out there right now and there is a ton of more innovations coming down the pipeline to support racers & hobbyist in several areas. www.teamtekin.com sign up for the forums and check out the latest developments!
HANDS DOWN, NO CONTEST, BEST ESC ON THE MARKET, NO CHIT!

I would say the best esc for a stock motor is a gm genius 90 or 120 or lrp spx stock spec because of their timing. I donīt know about the sp or tekin if they are able to use different timing at different rpms. I think they arenīt ?
Here in Germany everyone is running a gm or lrp esc in stock class. Unimportant if its 9.5 or 13.5.
cheers
Chris

Considering the amount of customer support and the rate of development from Tekin, its a no contest really. Tekin offer over double the support of any other speed control manufacturer going by the number of posts they make on rctech.

I would go with the KO or Tekin or the new LRP, I race nothing but 17.5 and 13.5 TC and nothing touches these. I have ran most others and these seem to give me the fastest lap times with the KO being a little better for programming. Plus the support Rob gives at the track or away is phenominal. Thanks again Rob for your help at the Carpet Nats.

As frustrating as it has all become, the Tekin is the best. The thing was pretty good at the 183 level software. A free download to 189 or 194 and the thing became a real beast on high wind motors. Getting basically a new speedo for free is pretty cool.

What I said about the Tekin is only true for spec racing. If you are ever going to run mod then the SP GT2.0 would be the best choce imo.

Definately the Tekin RS Pro is tops for support and features.
especially seeing the new top speed software update will be available shortly.
Speedpassion the next best in my opinion and the LRP/Nosram stock spec esc's

I've two MiniRage and an old but reliable G10pro+,never had any problem in years, only esc's that lasted in my hands.I've got GM'racing's,LRP's,Novaks,Quarks,Speedpassion and Castle esc's,but none lasted as long as my Tekins.
I'm using a SpeedPassion V2.0 LPF esc right now, but i bought it cause the LHS ran out of Tekin esc's.

Talk is cheap.... why not judging the best ESC by numbers ? eg. numbers of continuous amperes ? maximum burst amperes ? lowest ohm resistance on FET ?
