Default Spliff's HPI Sprint 2 Drift Sport

All stock except for an Integy motor heat sink w/fan and light kit from www.billscustomrclighting.com

Here's a video I edited of my drift car showing off the light kit... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgSDmsXM8W4
I wasn't trying to show off any skills, don't really have any, just messing around in my living room showing off the lights.

Haven't gotten around to making ABS tires. I'm working on selling a pair of wheels to help pay for a wider offset of the same style. The stock body (AE86) is 190mm uses 3mm front and 6mm rear offset. The Mercedes and S2000 bodies are 200mm and require 6mm front and 9mm rear to look proper. After I get the wheels I need I'll make some ABS tires.

Other than that, the car is great out of the box (for my needs). Eventually I would like to install a brushless system or at least a better ESC. When I run out of other projects I'll probably get into getting it all hopped up but I'm not about to go carbon fiber on anything, just suspension and getting it dialed in.

Looks pretty good.
Here's what my Sprint 2 Drift has turned in to.

Maybe I should throw the drift tires on it one of these days and try it. LOL

Sometimes racing should be just about racing.

It should be about reality... And they all look 10/10.

Enjoy

I was gonna say I thought I saw this car on RCMT... but when I hit 'quote' it's showing me the image code and URL for the pic and I did see this car before! Had me confused for a minute. Looks real nice, or should I say... looked real nice since it's gotten beat up a bit racing. That body would definitely look cool gettin sideways!

freeway... those are some nice lids.

I've been wanting to get some scale accessories for my drift bodies... light buckets, exhaust tips, mirrors, lights. I got a deal I'm working on right now for another light kit but I can't decide which of my RC's I want to light up next.

Do you know where I can find light buckets and other scale accessories?

That's what my son said too.

I've got the 350z body that I still need to get painted up.

So...this may be a stupid question, but it appears that the regular Sprint bodies fit the Sprint 2 Drift perfectly. Is that the case? I want a drifter and am trying to decide between Losi and HPI, but I like the classic HPI bodies and that would swing me towards HPI.

Yes, they fit perfectly. In fact this Cuda even had the body post holes marked for and HPI chassis.

i know you can make any on road car into a drift car. i have a cheep knock off brand chassis with a r32 skyline body im going to start racing in the super stock class, but im using it for a drift car until the track here is built. i all so have a cyclone 2 rolling chassis and wonted to get you all in put on servo, motor and esc and if you new if the sprint 2 drift body would work on this chassis. i have another uncut unpainted r32 skyline body and i was going to see if it would fit and use that. will post pics once this one is done im holding a friends cam and will have pics of the other one up later to day i hope.

o just fyi if you dont wont to spend the money or you just wont to try you hand at drifting put packing tape around your tires it will last for about 4-5 nice drifts pending on what you surface your drifting on fills like.

here is my sprint 2 setup for drifting, still work in progress.. just no upper carbon deck yet til tuesday morning getting sent. am still waiting on alloy parts from GPM and a front ball diff.

Holden Commodore VE - current shell
GTB 3.5R = FDR 7.72 (87/24)
rear spool (locked ball bearings on one way)
universal front dog bones
rear diff. housing cut open / front housing also
Velcro strips - to hold shell down rather than body posts...
