Default 1/10 WGT Gearing

Just built a RC10R5 with 1-Cell, Novak 13.5, LRP SPX, and 55mm tires.

What pinion and spur should I be shooting for with the 1 cell lipo?

You need an 88-Spur with a 40-Pinion to reach an 80mm rollout. Rollout for 13.5 WGT 1-cell is between 75-85mm.

I don't know about the roll out but my tires were trued to 2.25 (jaco Purple fronts and pink rears) 44/45 x 88 at most of the tracks here in florida.Just watch your motor temp.

Your roll out would be 89.77 with a 44 x 88.

We run that combo up here in SCAR class in London Canada. We run a rollout of 59 to 62 MMPR outside. One of our most popular classes check it out LondonRC.com.

is the rollout that much different from nimh and 1c lipo? nimh is about 61-62mm and you guys are saying 75-85mm with 1c lipo.

We have been finding 1s LiPo 1/12 and WGT gearing to be about 5-10mm greater than their NiMH counterparts.

For example, we were gearing 1/12 NiMH 17.5 cars around 85mm rollout, +/- 5mm, but now with 1/12 LiPo 17.5 we jumped to a 95mm rollout, +/- 5mm.

You might actually be too low with 61-62mm in NiMH 13.5 WGT, as we were typically in the 65-75mm range with NiMH 13.5. If you race at a smaller track, this may be the reason for your gearing. The track I race at is about 110' x 70'.

nimh setups

setup from snowbirds

35/96 gear with 53.34mm tires = 61.09mm rollout using gearchart.com

setup from iic vegas

35/96 with 55mm tires = 63mm rollout using gearchart.com

Any suggested gearing for WGT 13.5 stock spec 1s motor timing all the way up? We usually run them open with a Tekin at 39/96 and Duo 3 motor with 0 timing.

Hi there, I will be testing my new pan car this weekend and planning to run 7.5t motor. The track is outdoor where I usually play 1:8 nitro so fairly large.

I was wondering what gearing I should start to use and please confirm 64 or 48 pitch gearing.

Tires I will be using are 61mm.

Thanks
