RodM - since you seem to be almost the only non-Japanese speaker to own the Tachyon - can you reveal what it actually does?

Is it a "new generation speedo" with hybrid mode, dynamic timing advance etc. How does it perform in stock and mod?

I'm a big fan of the brushed Keyence speedo, and wish that more was known about the brushless version!

Its been listed on the Schumacher UK/USA website for some time, never been in stock though , and the price! well it better have 100 degree timing and keep the motor stone cold for me to buy it at that price.

Schumacher UK have definitely been looking at it, as they had a couple in and I tested one of them for them. Not sure what the final plans for them are though.

Matt would you please share your experience with the Tachyon ad possibly give us a comparison of performance against current top end brushless ESC's

I tested the Keyence 10.5 and yesterday and was very impressed. Rod also had the English Tachyon manual and the specs were impressive. Timing adjustment 2-16 degrees in 2 deg increments when the programming card is used.

What's more important is how the timing increases. Does it increase progressively with rpm or have a "turbo" like the spx?

I believe its controllable like the KO or SP GT2. FYI I'm running an SPX Stock Spec now so I'll be able to compare when I get to try one

I'm not too sure about the cards, but the manual I saw was printed off the net so I'd say yes it's available online but I don't know where

Anyone who has used their Brushed ESC's will know they make quality kit.

Keyence sent one to me a few months ago, I have been testing it in 17.5 and so far I am pretty impressed,

anyone else use one of these?

Does it ramp up the timing like the tekin or the lrp?

a timing of 2 to 16 deg is not much timing.
Or is the speedo more for mod motors?

If thats the amount of boost it applies after peak rpm its plenty.

I think this will be more for the Mod guys, only because so far nobody has been able to confirm how the timing works otherwise.

I think the 2-16 degrees of adjustable timing will be static timing, so it won't be ideal to compete against those ESC's which are optimized for stock spec (10.5/13.5/17.5) and have timing advance/shift/boost and turbo on top of that.

I'm still considering getting one though, I love my Rapida Pro and still run it in our TCS championship which is still running brushed this season.

I think it is static timing. There was no mention in the manual of it being dynamic.

I ran the speedo a few times with 10.5 and the feel was very good. This was only indoors though, so i have no idea how it would be on an bigger outdoor track.
