Tamiya Centre One Way Kit on TA05

Hey everyone,

I've got a question here, I cant seem to get my head around it.

I have a Tamiya Centre One Way for the TA05.

I installed it as instructed per instructions.

Now if I hold the car on its front wheels, and push it forward, all 4 wheels will move forward, but when I pull it backwards, the front wheels are disengaged from the spur gear and free spinning on it's own.

Is this correct?

I got this kit coz I was curious about it but I m not sure that this is setup correctly. Have I got the one way bearing on the wrong way round?

Thanks!

It sounds like the oneway is the wrong way around.

You are doing the test in such a way that you managed to confuse yourself.

Try this.
Put the car down on a support with all four wheels in the air. Spin the spur forward by hand. Grab one of the front wheels and try to keep it still. If you can turn the spur by hand and hold the front wheel still without any effort the oneway is the wrong way around. If you cannot keep the front wheel still whilst spinning the spur forward then you got it right.

Sweeeet!

Thanks for that. I will give it a go as soon as I get home and report back.

Cheers.

Give the car a blast of throttle with the wheels in the air. Once you let off the thorttle, the front wheels should continue to spin, but the rears should stop.

If this is the case, you've got it correct. If not, your front wheels won't even spin when you give it throttle...
