While Joel is a shoe and so is masami and kinwald.......I dunno about everyone on that list. Has baker ever won a world title? Easton only has one........does cryul have one? Lett gets in....I would think Mark Pavidis is a better choice than blackstock, spashett, easton or baker.

A lot of old school drivers like Jay Halsey and Tony Neisinger(spelling may be off)......probably a lot more if I sat around and thought about it.

I wouldn't think you have to have a world title. Just being in the top 5 consistantly at prominent races. These guys are always in contention for years. I'm sure I left out some names.

I vote for Pedro de la Rosa

Two times European Champion of Radio-Control Off-Road Cars Runner up at the Radio-Control Off-Road Cars World Champion

and current Mclaren Formula 1 test driver!!!! not a bad progression from toy cars to real cars.

Well, there were guys just like them way back too........always in the top 5, winning the occasional national title or big race back then.......but never winning the big one.

If thats the standard, were gonna have one BIG hall of fame membership list.

Maybe we should tighten up on the standard. These guys should have a long winning track record. Promote the hobby, young kids should be able to look up these guys. They should be approachable at events. (No A#@ holes) Help out the little guys with advice.

The best of the best I've met are Joel Johnson & Masami.

For promoting the hobby, you can't help but mention Matt Francis. He's a great guy.

For overall Talent:
Masami
Joel
Jay Hawlsey
Gil Losi Jr.
Cliff Lett
Brian Kinwald
Kent Claussen(sp)
Kyle Reed
Mark Pavadis
Barry Baker

art cabonell is also one of the nicest guys still around from the old school days that
did well in 12 scale and 10 scale including his strong point 1/8 scale.
this was one of the first multi class champions.

Arty is a really nice quiet guy. Met him at the gas nats in Revelation.

I think that the all time legend in RC is Masami Hirosaki. 13 world championships in various classes is remarkable. The next person I think is Lamberto Collari, he is pretty close to double digits as well.

if you go to another race like nascar does Tony Stuart stop and help you the little guy out? no!!! but if he could he would , but you have to understand that to the pros this is a job first and hobby second. sometimes we are in a bad mood and dont have time to help. the pros are there to race first and answer guestion later,
