Great to know the beta testing is starting. Have been waiting for the release since 2008/9? Just hoping they got the physics right for pan car carpet racing, and for electric touring.
It will be interesting to see how the ESC's have been implemented, and if boost/turbo functions are in the game.

I got in on the late beta that syndrome posted. They just sent out an email saying you can now discuss the game. I don't have many hours into it, and have been running the electric tracks because that's all I race. Its better than the original, in feel and customizations, I run the 13.5 motor most of the time and its a good speed, the suspension changes work, and the tracks are setup like real tracks.
I need to hook it up to my TV and try it, haven't had a chance yet..

Yeah, apparently we can talk about it and post videos? Anyway, I haven't played as much recently, but it's pretty fun. I think it could definitely help people improve at real racing, at least up until a certain point. After that, it seems to be effective for keeping skills sharp.

I find the electric motors to be quite... weird. The 8.5T are slow, unless you gear it to the max (3.7 or something?).

Not sure, they're wrapping up the beta test now and I think picking the final things they want to fix before release.
It's definitely a lot of fun. You need a computer that can play it at 60 or more FPS for it to really feel smooth. It doesn't seem like a laptop, for example, is the best choice since the video cards are usually fairly underpowered.
