Yeah the Euro is tanking at the moment.

Unhappy Problem

Hi everyone,

I downloaded the vrc pro trial 3 weeks ago and I like it, but I have a problem. The game works fine for a while, but after approximately 90 laps at the vrc carpet 2 track my computer shuts down suddenly. Then I have to reboot my laptop and restart the game. I never had this problem before and it doesn't happen when vrc pro isn't running, but I can't find a sollution to this.

Hope you guys could help!

Vincent

It sounds like your CPU, GPU or ram are overheating. When was the last time you blew the dust out of it?

Try downloading and running coretemp to see what the CPU temp is getting up to.

There is no doubt this is a resource extensive game. I tried it on a few year old gaming system and it was almost unplayable even on low settings. Loaded on my budget gaming machine (dual core AMD and GTX460) and it was fair.

I loaded it on a work machine built for graphics design and video editing (i7 with GTX560) and it was GREAT. Very decent and at 1920x1080 I felt like I had enough "vision" to get close enough to the real thing to make it worthwhile for practice.

On my son's I5 machine with integrated graphics it was almost playable. So now I am getting him a graphics card so we can race each other.

The monthly fee is a bummer however.

My issue I'm having is steering and throttle inputs being delayed. You can hold steering lock in one direction, then move the steering to the other side and back to the starting point faster than the game can process the first movement. Same with the throttle. It makes it hard to drive the car accurately.

Is it the laptop not being fast enough?

That may be the case. I have no delay between inputs. It's just like a real Rc for me.

Very likely. Not many laptops have the specs to run 3d graphic intensive games. I tested it on a $1400 "gaming" laptop and it was great however. YMMV.

On an older cheaper system it was like you describe.

VRC PRO is awesome. It would just be nice to have the option to practice against other computer cars. Kind of like VRC.

Was there a Jan 1 price increase or something.

Seems to have gone up a bit since I purchased my last subscription.

Well wouldn't the price on the site remain the same regardless of what country I'm in. There getting euro's there the same value euro's no matter where they come from.

Actually now that I think about it there was a special on at xmas wasn't there. That must be what I'm thinking of. Maybe I should hold out till easter.

Anybody else using a KO EX10 with VRC Pro? I just got my USB adapter and setup the game today, but my computer won't recognize any inputs from the controller. Not sure if it would be my radio of the adapter. Sounds like pretty much plug and play to set the adapter up.
