i'm starting to get serious about an opportunity that may allow me to develop and manufacture a little sumpin' sumpin'.
with that having been said, i am trying to minimize intitial costs by borrowing some parts from all kits that are presently available.
for starters, i'm looking for some data about hubside hingepin diameters for some of the more readily available kits out there. also looking for available castor angles for the same.
tamiya 414, 415, evo's
yok mr4's
cuda's
atlas
hpi's old and new.
and any metric kit that you might know that information from.
so lay it on me. it's either gonna be 3mm (.117") or 2.5mm (.098") and whatever angles are available (kit or aftermarket) for castor.
also what hub bearings do the blocks use? 5x10 or 5x11? other?

You might want to start by trying websites that have the manuals available in PDF for a lot of the option parts and bearing specs. I think pretty much all the top end Tamiyas run the same inner and outer hingepin diameters too.
Heck-you might even want to go your own way on bearings and hingepins to some degree. LIke run a numbered drillblank thats 0.0001 smaller in daimeter than stock to free up those tight hingepins in the c-hubs, etc.
When you get some trick shocks made-I'll buy a set-I hate the AE FTTC3 shocks.

thanks ray, i'll try some of the sites.
for now i want get a working hybrid with some std. parts. i don't want to do too much developement until i can get some track time in to test it. so keeping things stock for now will be quicker i think.
we'll see. this project may never come to fruition, but it's worth some time.
