Hey guys, I have a good selection of the HPI red's, green, and yellow inserts in stock along with the echo (4430) red's (medium)and green's (firm). I expect the Yok dish wheels to be back in stock the first part of next week along with the Sorex dish wheels and inserts.

I am also discontinuing the HPI dish wheels, both white and black for $3.75 pair while they last.

I like them a lot. They hold up well and the tire wear is good, imo.

rcracingfreak: I mounted mine on SpeedTechRC's own dish wheels. Their basically a copy of Yokomo's dish wheels, so either one should be fine.

Thing is though, I mounted some Yokomo 139G2 tires w/yokomo firm inserts, on some OFNA split spoke wheels(which have a larger diameter than the SPeedtechRC/Yokomo wheels), yet they still had that small gap between the tire and insert.

So rcracingfreak, it may not be the diameter of the wheel, as it is so much using the company's tires with that same company's insert.

I also mounted some Losi low profile Yellow tires on those same OFNA wheels, but I used Yokomo inserts. This left no gap between the tire and insert. Its not a problem with those tires though, since they aren't belted.

Oh, and all the wheels I mentioned here are 24mm.

The problem right now is that HPI is moving and everyone is out of them, but I think i have a place that has them.

For outside I have used my 36r with the HPI Green insert and they were stuck. I know of some pro drivers that like the echo better. I think Red, but not sure.

Last time I saw Sean Cochran's car, he was using a reddish/pink Echo insert at so-cal. As usual, he was dialed.

I run Sorex 20Rs on the rear with HPI red inserts and 24Rs on the front with either HPI red or blue inserts. I also use Yokomo dish rims. I run stock on carpet. Hope this info helps.

Default HPI inserts

Ling:

You were right on the money about the inserts. Was at SoCal tonight and bought a set of the 32s with HPI green and Yok rims.

The guy I was pitting with did the same except he bought the HPI reds. His tires were blistered after the first run. We both were running stock motors.

He figures the traction on the sweeper is what caused the blistering.

My tires no shows signs of such damage.

These tires are awesome. I was running the Yok Sprints (firm with med inserts) earlier in the day - the difference is immediately noticeable. The Sorex's need a couple of turns to warm up, but then they are locked.

One of the other guys in the pit with us also bought the 32s. He was running mod and thought the 36s hooked up better for him than the 36s.

Thanks for the tip,

Joe

Simple Green to clean, Paragon for traction.

I heard simple green a couple times now...I will have to try that...

Do you dilute it or just take it straight (or up with a twist, on the rocks....)

I am always inventing wacky crap...so today I think I might make a way to clean tc tires with simple green while they are still on the car, and with minimal mess........
