Default Setup Tools

I'm a 1:10 touring car newbie and was looking for setup tool suggestions. I'm familiar with the Hudy and Integy products, but I'm looking for something a little cheaper. An old product out of production that I can find used would be fine too.

In particular, I'd like something that would allow me to accurately/consistently set alignment/camber/toe on both sides, and I think that's pretty much it. Don't really care about tweak, a pretty case, or a flat surface. I saw some interesting bubble-based angle measurement devices at home depot, but those aren't likely to be good for half/degree precision.

Going inexpensive you can get an angle gauge (protractor) to measure camber. Toe in/out can be measured using the edge of a work bench by hanging the front wheels off the edge and comparing left and right wheel to edge angles.

Laugh all you want. This will get a car very close. I can set a car up this way and not need to adjust the steering trim once on the track.

RPM makes camber and toe gauges that are fairly inexpensive.

your like every one of us that don't have disposabal incomes. at first I coulden't see spending the $$ to get a full set up kit but as said before RPM makes some cheap stuff but look on this site in Rc Items forsale and you will see Integy/Hudy set up kits for cheap. Now I don't go to the track without it.

I have this tool for my pan car http://www.unitytool.com/tweakboard/index.html and wondering if I pick up a tc5r if I will be able to setup until more money becomes available to buy a hudy setup kit.

Here are some better pictures http://www.kimihiko-yano.net/Product...?gno=Unity-001

Well looks like I can get away with the tweak station if Hudy's tweak station is able to work with touring than mine is no different.

Found this tonight and is why I know I can use my tool.

Ive a cheapy camber gauge: unusable due to poor design.
Use a metal Try_square for camber ( a bit of math to work out the angle
from dist from to of wheel to Try_square)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Try_square
Or maybee make some preset Camber gauges out of cardboard.

have a laugh while your'e here, extreme camber.
