The fan draws very little power...
You can plug it into the BEC slot on the receiver...

It should work yes! transponders are plugged into the BEC slot!
It should also be the 3rd slot, if its a 2 channel receiver..
Does its have anything written next to each slot? like ch1, ch2, bat.. just to make sure.

I bought a small radioshack fan with BEC preinstalled and put it over my GT7. I didn't notice anything different, but it sure draws some looks. My friend even went as far as to install one onto the roof of his car, and installed a real scoop. Works really good.

The 12 volt fans spin too slow on 7 volts... get a 5 volt fan. I wire mine to the motor... when you pull the trigger the fan spins. Since you dont have to lift much in stock it works very well.

Here's a little sample of the twin-fan setup I use. It runs off the terminals on the ESC and provides ALOT of air. Both are small 5 volt fans that run on a separate switch. I can use them in the hot weather times or leave them off in the cold. Just a little 'extra' item I wanted...

Fan Install Pix

Be prepared, they are large pix. I haven't resized them yet for the article I'm doing....
