Default Me so happy!!!!!

After a few days of thinking and a few headaches further, I finally made a decision, No Xray T3, no TB03R and no other makes, just stay with the initial plan.
So I just did it and bought a TA05 ver2 R!!!!!!!!! That's why me so happy

Gonna race it with GM 80R esc and 13.5T GM evo3 BL motor. a protoform R9R body
Hope the car will arrive before our next indoor club meeting in januari.

If you guys have any good idea's or some do's and don'ts regarding the car just let me know

Does anyone know , What weight would a ta05 R vII would be with a 5000mah li-po in ready to race format with brushless.? also how is the side to side balance without any weight added and a 5000mah li-po?

I drilled balancing holes at the front and rear to figure out what was needed. I ended up putting a 38 gram weight on the right side of the chassis. The car has a GTB, Futaba R603FS receiver, Thunder Power 5000Mah battery and a Airtronics 94758 servo.

Do you have to be a good drifting driver to be a good touring driver?

Drifting and racing is a whole different ball game.

No you dont have to be.
But doing drifting back then alot, back in the days.
It gives you lil different lines to take (Not the best but emergency lines if you overshot the turn), and drifting you also get some recovering action.
But nothing a racer cant learn or get a feel for.

BUT ANY ONE owns a TA05 IFS with the EX05 chassis and raced it competivly among TCX, Xrays, TC5, E4RS, Cyclones and TC6 as a racer before ? If so how does it stack up to the competition in the race world ?

I want to get another exotic chassis and EX05 looks appealing.

Default What 48 pitch spur and gear to use with Havoc spec 13.5

I want to use a ta05 v2 for parking lot use (no tracks near here) and would prefer 48 pitch setup for use with the novak havoc 13.5. What spur and pinion combo would you recommend with this motor.

I'm using the havoc 13.5 with a 48pitch 28t pinion with the stock spur gear.

I don't know if Tamiya's spur gear is exactly 48 pitch though..

you probably need to setup the car still, eg: droop, ride height, camber, toe, etc etc.

I really like the new "R" version and never had a problem with the IFS setup.
The only "hop-up" that I have put on it that I really felt the need for is the Tamiya TB-03 Racing Steering Set (54095)
