Default Long Enough

Question to all, Im buying my first lipos for touring car racing (17.5 now and 13.5 future), will the Team Orion 2S 1P 7.4V 3400mAH 25C SLPB LiPo Batteries be sufficent for racing these classes using a Novak GTB spread spektrum esc or is there a better recommendation.
The chargers I have are the Tritons which charge at a max of 3amps for lipos, I already have two of these so they are going to have to be enough to get me started. The reason Im asking is because I have been to races where they race 7min qualifiers and 7min mains. Will 2 of these batteries get me through a day of racing?

Thanks
Ron

I would get a higher mAh rating if you're gonna be going long.

I usually keep all my LiPos within the 4k to 8k mAh ratings.

Doesn't track layout and gearing, temps, play a big part in how long you'll last?!

Given the high cost but long life of lipo, I'd splurge and get at least the 4200-5200 mah rating and definetly 35-40C, the C rating DOES make a difference.

5000mAh or higher is where you want to aim. Especially with those 10 minute main races.

you need a charger with higher charge rate so that you can turn over the packs faster each run. I run my [email protected] 8amp charge rate. I run a single 4000 all race day long just hit with 8amps between heats...

But you shoulld be fine if you have 2 packs and keep up on the repeaks between rounds

i really like the ip 3800 and 5000, trakpower gold 4900 also very good choice, but the ip's have slightly better nummbers for charge results.

u should be able to run fine with ur batteries, recharge them in between races (if interval time is around 30 minutes)... no need for 5000mah unless u plan to run 2 heats with a single charge...

I run an smc 4000 pack in 17.5. It drains about 1700 mah in our 6 min races. I agree with the charger recommendation. I run the same pack all day long. Good luck.
