East Coast Bodies S15 240SX painted in a Yashio Factory inspired theme. Everything is paint except for the rocker panels and the little Tein shock decals.

This is the Cusco Subaru Impreza that comes with the Tamiya TA05 V.II chassis.

Looks nice man. Are you taking this out for the next RCGT Showdown?

Hey Andy

did you use masking vinyl or regular vinyl for your masks?

I have a vinyl cutter and I wanted to check so I know whether or not I need to hit my supplier... I've got plenty of regular vinyl...

I'm going to practice with it a few times at WCRC before I try to race it...I've never driven on-road, so it'll be a little bit of an adjustment. Once I get comfortable, I probably will try to get out to a few of the Showdown races. I got all the electronics in it yesterday, so short of a transponder it's good to go.

This is the vinyl we use, I believe it's a medium tack vinyl.

The key is also having good backing transfer tape:

We'll be at WCRC for practice on Monday if you can make it. If not, Sunday is also a good day for practice (more track time). Bring your off-road cars too. Finally, another person from SC out at the track.

I may head out there Monday after work to learn how to drive it, then!

Not to butt in, but you can also get this stuff from alot of Sign Suppliers

http://www.na.averygraphics.com/PDFs...Mask_Films.pdf

I like the yellow better, it is easier to work with.

If Andy was holding a paint clinic, and if I could get to Cali for a decent price, and if we could paint shells all weekend, That would be the shiz.

I bet if you set up a paypal account attached to that, some money would show up. Cant say how much but I bet it would get some support. I also think the hobby could use another website deticated to painting in the lex.

I like the CFX website but its all about the wildest paintjobs and crazy stuff. Which is great if you like racing easter eggs. I dont know. We could still use an RC paint website more for every day and stuff like VTA, RCGT, and F1. I like the way Andy presented his technique for doing the Falken shells and I could stand more stuff like that.

Great info on masks and painting techniques. The g/f and i went halfsies on a vinyl cutter and now that she's done with a wedding shower (16 sheets of confetti, YUK) it's my turn to have some fun.

Thanks for the pics as well!
