Oh, O.K. That sucks, I was really hoping to get this car, but I don't want to get any more batteries. Anyway thanks for the tips and pictures! I really appreciate it. I will try to build up more money to buy a good battery pack with the car. Any recommendations?

Today i fitted my new LRP 4000 25CStick style Lipo in my F10 Chassis.
I dont know how the other Stick pack style Lipos are shaped, but the LRP one is not realy that round as a sub-C pack ist.
So the first time i tried to fit the Lipo in the car i have to loosen the screw of the top brace obove the battery slot, that i could slide the Lipo in.....
After retightening the screws i was not able to pull out the pack.....
Now after a grinding session on my F10 car, the lipo fits firmly (without loosen the screws) in the car.
The benefit of this thight fit is, that in dont need the battery holdes anymore!
Cant wait to try this combo 17,5 BL and Lipo.
Hope that the foam nitro tires perform as well.

I am going to get the car anyway and try to fit my lipo in it. If it doesn't fit I am going to get a 4 cell 4000mah pack and a 17t motor and run that in the car.

So whats the deal with this car? Can we fit any Lipo in it? I have soft 3s packs but they are still kind of square at the edges. I was looking at ordering one of these tonight or the 3racing F109. The 109 looks like it fits all kinds of batteries but its also in Hong Kong. Id rather have a car with parts available in the US.

As you can see at the pics above, only stickpack style lipos will fit. 3s lipos or "normal" hardcase lipos doesnt fit anyway (look at the pics a few posts above).
If you want compare the HPI with the F109 you have to say that these cars are quite differnt.
The F109 have definitly the best performance out of the box.
It cames with all hopups and setup options that the serious racer is satisfied.
The HPI is a beginner car, where every hopup have to buyed seperat.
The most value for money car is the 3racing F109.

I read good thing about the F109. But I would prefer a car company with widely available parts. Maybe I am mistaken and the F109 can use tamiya or hpi parts.
I like that the HPI is easy to get parts for. But I dont like being restricted on the batteries. What do you think about the Tamiya F60 they have based on the 104?

i've got to honest ...if you're planning on using 3s lipos in any F1 you're not going to be very happy with it no matter who makes it or how available parts are.
these cars are very similar to 1/12th scale cars in the amount of power needed to make them fast, but, they don't really handle as well due to the wheel base and track width.
i think 4 cell nimh/17.5 brushless or 2s lipo / 6 cell stick pack(probably 3300 mah at most) 21.5 brushless or silver can motor is the way to power them.
the best thing to do is see what is being run in the series you're planning on racing in( motor/ battery/ tire specs ) and then decide.

we're running a spec series with it at my LHS. 4 cell nimh/silver can motor, rubber tires( HPI Bridgestones allowed), Ball diff allowed, aluminum shock allowed,front spring changes allowed. it's not the fastest racing on the track but it is the closest racing and looks very realistic.

We run the F10 here with a 4cell regulatet LRP Stick pack, and LRP X11 17,5 Motor.
The maximum gearing is also restricted.
Allowed hopups are : the Alu shock, and the Bridgestone tires.
We drive 3 Qualyfings, but only one 20min Final. That is a lot of Fun...

How long do the 4cells last? What MAH cells do you use? I might want to use a 4 cell battery pack because I have experience with F1 style cars before (F103GT) and they are really hard to control with high power motor. I tried using my Mamba Max 7700kv motor once and it had absolutely no control.

These, and a 3000mha Version are the official Race packs for the LRP-HPI-Challenge here in Austria/Germany.
But i dont know if LRP also produces the packs for distributors in the US or China...

Sadly we don't have too many LRP stuff here in the USA.( I am a big fan of LRP) So I will probably make my own if I need it.

In finland we are about to race for the first time with f10s.
Sadly we've got only 4 cars at our club, but hoping that they'll get more common during summer. We are racing in west side's stock king annual race event in our own class - f10, in a large school hall on carpet.
Motor limit is 15.5t bonded brushless with foam tires. The f10 thing was an idea of an active local hobbyist, who wanted to create a fun, inexpansive and fast entry-stage class. (kind of faster mini-cooper, which has been enormously popular here in finland fo a long time)
Personally I enjoy driving f10, because of huge grip on foams and nice driveability. Could invest in ball differential tough...
