The series which I got the picture from (F1 RCGP) runs 6 cells, and the picture looks to have 6 cell packs to the side. Battery holders look wider too..

The kit comes with parts to hold a 4-cell or a 6-cell pack.

I drove one yesterday - with a 4-cell pack, 15-turn silver can motor and higher than normal gearing it lasted 15 minutes. The throttle control out of turns took me some getting used to, I was looping around a bit with stock tires on asphalt

But to answer your question, it comes with a gear diff. A ball diff will be an option in the future.

A PRO version will be an option too...

Default Decisions DECISIONS

Well I really want to get an F1 car, but not sure which one.
There is no class in my area, so it will probably end up being mostly for my enjoyment.
I like the HPI and it is inexpensive, but if there is no way to do LiPo/BL in it I think I will have to choose another option. I moved on from NiMh and brushed motors long ago.
Also considering the Tamiya F104 Pro or F103RM anniversary addition.

A few posts back Colin, the marketing guy from HPI, mentioned the round-bottom lipos will fit! Judging by the proportions of the pod in relation to the motor seen in the pics (back a page or two), a BL motor will fit without any issues.

Well now Horizon says mid-July and Tower says late July. Mid-summer release + a month or more after F104 = not good.

Seriously considering this car. Hoping I wll be able to use a single cell LiPo, 13.5BL motor and foam tires with it.
