If we can get the new 3.7v LIPOs into this chassis, it will make for some inexpensive and great racing. I watched the WGT cars on asphalt last weekend, and those with the 3.7v/13.5BL combo were powerful enough to spin up the rear tires if they weren't easy on the throttle. Plenty of power there, and no one had servo or ESC issues from the low voltage.

Got this from one of the tech guys at the UK distributor (Mirage) this moring:

"We’re expecting the Formula 10 to arrive in July/August, so not too far away now. Looking at the battery holders on the car I would imagine that a 1S LiPo pack should fit in there without too many problems provided the case has radiused edges to it. The intention is for the car to be used with a 4 cell stick pack though."

to which I replied:

"So a little like the Tamiya F1's then? Should be able to make the relevant conversions (hacksaw blade springs to mind) myself then."

and got the reply back:

"I guess you could remove some material from the battery holders to allow other packs to fit, but they do stiffen the chassis as well so you wouldn’t want to take too much material away. I’m sure there will be some optional battery holders at some point if there is sufficient demand for them though."

I want to be able to put my TC lipos in it, rather than having to invest in more lipos!

Can't make California, I allready feel a severe sun burn coming on just from racing today at Sunny Stafford in the TORC. Gonna try and get either the F201 or the F103 up and running for next sundays "fun" Summer Series at Stafford.

I was lookin on rceasy.com for their coverage of the Shizuoka hobby show. HPI had the Formula 10 on display there. This pic on the site made me do a double take. Notice the battery hold-down pieces, and how they're wider than normal? I'm thinking these make room for a 6-cell battery.

All the info about the base kit here:
http://www.hpiracing.com/kitinfo/102851/

But to answer your question, it comes with a gear diff. A ball diff will be an option in the future.

Pics from F1RCGRP in Japan, where the F 10 was raced at the latest round...Notice the front knuckles, this car uses the regulation handout tires, which fit f103 style cars...
