Default Any suggestions for Stock or 19 turn at snowbirds

Hey Chris,
I have an SSG SD that I am planning to run at the Snowbird Nationals in a few weeks, do you have any setup tips I should take into consideration? I'm planning on using Associated purple springs and dual rear shock towers and 50 wt oil. Also TRC plaid fronts and Purple rears for tires. Unfortunately there aren't any carpet tracks around here so any help would be appreciated. Also, how should I expect the car to handle carpet?
Thanks,
Shane

Looking at the pics of this past weekend...say an alfa with some great looking grill decals and headlights...what are those off of and where can a person get some of those....???

Also saw you ran a Parma Alfa whats your thoughts on those?

hi guys. greetings from Malta.

Congratulations Chris.

Even though I'm on the other side of the World I followed the Novak meeting on here, as did a couple of other local racers.

Looks like you've finally got that SD dialled. well done.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

yes i did, but i am not sure wether he understood what i wanted to know.
his answer was:
...Bigger pistions - more roll...

that is what bigger pistons in general affect. but i want to know what is the difference between bigger pistons combined with heavy oil compared to small pistons with light oil.....

that is like a big pinon with a big spur compared to a small spur + small pinon, the ratio stays the same.
did u get it?

sry for my bad english

bigger pistons will give more roll and more grip like springs
little pistons will give less roll and less grip like springs.
thinner oil only controls the rate the shocks comprress.
thinner = quicker rate
thiker=slower rate.
these are more of a fine tune and the piston number/size depends on the thickness of the oil.
oooopppps wrong thread.
over to you chris.

Default Chassis type?

Chris,

I know you use the black chassis for carper with foam, which chassis do you use for carpet with rubber tyres? for asphalt (outdoor) with rubber tyres?

Thanks
