They had listed part numbers, as in individual pieces. I would assume you have to buy each part separately.

Here's the Tamiya link to the X1 and it's hop up set which includes top deck, damper and damper mount $69, separate link has the axle counterweight $11.50.

Exotech complete chassis kit is only $120 and that's with an oil damper not greased "slider".

But if it's Tamiya legal you're after, here ya go

click the individual links on this page to see prices

Really loving the F104! With a 13T HW EZRun the thing HONKS
Even though none of the clubs here race them, it's great to use when I can't use the nitro cars, and keeps my driving skills sharp

Hi guys,

Just got back from Singapore, where I raced in the 2011 Tamiya Asia Cup Finals with my 10 year old daughter. Over 100 drivers from 8 countries. Just wanted to share my F104, which won concours. Hope you like it.

It was also pretty fast, 2nd on the podium

Mattwoodcraft, Lapu-Lapu, thanks.

Does anyone know how to build a smooth diff for the F104? Mine is sticky and crunchy. I'ver replaced the diff balls, sanded the diff plates, replaced the thrust bearing, used different grease and oil for the thrust bearing, used Associated stealth and tamiya ball diff grease on the diff balls... still no good.

Ceramic balls in the diff?
I've built mine using the same old method I used on the TC's.
Sand rings with wet 600grit both sides (to make the plates flat), use ceramic Diff balls, and then use Schumacher diff greese.
Thrust wise, using the one-piece Tamiya thrust from the 103, and pack it full of AE black greese... and the Diff is pretty silky smooth IMO.
I did read on Rod's build of the X1 he had a gritty thrust, so could try replacing that.

I used the one piece trust bearing from the F103 and ceramic diff balls.
It is silky smooth now.
Don't use a normall ballbearing as stated in the manual.

regards Roy

I don't know how, but I did it!
I assembled my third 104 diff a few days ago. I noticed once complete it was very smooth. All standard parts and Tamiya diff grease.

Have you checked your axle bearings? They can affect the smoothness of the diff as well
