I have the stock foams in my rubber tires and the car is hooking up pretty good
when the tire temp is warm. I lowered the front to 4mm and the rear 3mm ride ht.so the rear sits lower and that helped more than a gallon of tire prep ever did. this is a cool time of the year and the kit tires need hot weather to warm up quickly. 85 deg. +++ would help. The new soft compound tamiya has will be the hot ticket.
My next set I will try to build with f103 rear inserts. I have also read on this fourm it helps and would like more fb too.

Jaco mod complete
Just need this damn rain to go away so i can test it out. Driving up and down the street seems encouraging. Its around 205mm at the back.
What a good rollout for 17.5?
Anyone got any jaco pinks they want to sell?
The only problem was the rear axle holders, but i shimmed it with a sliver of metal from 13/32 pipe and the flanged bearings will keep it in there.

I hate the rain,. It was cool when I lived in Toledo, when I wasn't a racer.

Thanks to everyone that answered. I will work on everything you all recommended.

What the H is that?

I raced it last wednesday night, but that was before I put all of the lights in. Only had the four strip lights. Still looked cool going round
It's getting kind of heavy so not sure how that will effect performance. And the only other problem is the rubber tyres start losing it the darker, and colder, it gets.
I'll try to get a mate to take some shots of it on the track and see what we get

I've got a set of Rides (as far as I know, all compounds) on the way, so should be able to test 'em next Sunday (Feb 15). Never really liked the idea of the way the Shimizu's mounted, so I've stayed away from them, although a couple of the other guys I know seem to like them.
Tried the Tamiya rubbers back to back with the B foams on Tuesday night and they were terrible. To be fair, I think they need a bit more heat in them to work well. My best lap dropped from around 23.6 to 27.5, but most of them were 29 or over because I couldn't keep the car from spinning I had treated them about 45mins beforehand and they felt sticky enough, but no real grip at the back. This is an outdoor asphalt track...
I will have a set of warmers for the next evening meet, so will give that a try.
Spotted these on the hop-ups list for the F104 on the Tamiya web site:
54199 RC F104 Rubber Tires - Rear/Soft
54198 RC F104 Rubber Tires - Front/Hard
No obvious clues as to availability...

I suppose so, my local TAC or TCS as you guys called it are runnning foams on carpet and rubbers on asphalt as a rule ...
