Good to hear your car is working well. I've dialed the steering down a fair bit too. But removing the rear spring was what allowed me to go from half throttle to full throttle driving - even on the straights. Sounds like everyone is starting to get the chassis working which is good. And if anyone finds a good setup, please share by posting your setup sheet.

sorry for my ignorance.........with the removal of the rear spring, that's improving the car's stability at high speeds....would/could you get the same type of effect by running the soft t bar?

On the F104, the T-bar affects movement of the rear pod in all directions. But the shock only comes into play when the whole pod is moving up and down. So yes, a softer T-bar will help because the rear end is softer in all situations. But you will also get more understeer in the turns because the rear end is softer in roll.

But by removing the spring and using the std T-bar, you soften the rear pod only when the whole pod moves up and down - ie under acceleration and over sharp undulations. The idea is you still get the steering response of the stock T-bar because you have the higher roll stiffness. But you also get better grip and stability under acceleration and over sharp bumps.

thanks for that veecee, that makes more sense.
I've ordered mine last week and trying to get together a list of things to get based on the comments so far.....tires are the big thing by the sounds of it, and I'll be getting some Tamiya B for upfront as that sounds like it is helping with the steering.
No doubt will have many more questions

No worries. I still want to do more tinkering with the setup and that includes trying the softer T-bar at some stage. But out of the box, the car works well just by removing the shock spring. So it's a great way to get the car running if you want to hit the track straight away. The 3.5mm offset steering hub is handy.

Tyres are important too. I would like to try some Zen F104 foams once they are available from HK again.

Hey Folks,

I've finished my F104 a couple of weeks ago.

Now I drove it at a parking lot not far from my homeplace two weeks ago.
I had a lot of oversteer on the rear when I've accelerated out of the corner.
Might this result out of my ride height? I've put it on the maximum because of the bumps on the surface of the parking lot.

I changed the t-bar to the soft one (1,3 mm / 0.05 ") from 3racing. This helps a bit.

Has anyone tried just running a softer spring, rather than taking the spring out all together? Or is it best to just take the spring out and leave it?

Comes with an esc thats not even listed on the site... That will probably up the price probably beyond what the 104 pro is available now for?
