104pro Paint up...
Thanks to the forum, I picked up my F104 after being out of the hobby for many years...
The kit went together nicely, added the motor mount. I was torn over waiting for the Tamiya Chrome paint and getting the look of the Box car, or going for something a little different... I went for something a little different...

PS-48
The Chrome paint should be out in spray form very soon, think it is PS-48. Just going to be too many F104's in chrome, IMO.

Why not just get the Alclad Chrome paint? That stuff is awesome when sprayed right.

Front = The F104 uses a larger kingpin than the F103, hence the larger diameter wheel. Since the F103 wheels are smaller they will rub when mounted on the F104.
Rear = The F104 uses a one piece wheel because you don’t need to mount the thrust assembly in the wheel anymore. It also uses a shorter wheel hub for the same reason. As far as mounting the F103 wheel on the F104 I’m not sure you can’t. The offset maybe different but I’m not exactly sure.
I hope this helps.

That main difference i see is that F104 use bigger size bearings than the F103 for the front.
