Tamiya F104 Pro!

I don't use the front posts anyways since running on low bumpy asphalt and most likely won't be running on med/high traction any time soon. Also had this idea since I think the Pro by deafult - the top deck doesn't extend that far?

Hi guys,
I have a problem with the gearing on my car. I now run a 32T pinion / 60T spur combo, 48 pitch. The 60 spur I made myself but it doesn't last. I would love to run my 70T Exotec spur, but that would mean I need to run a 36T pinion and the combo won't fit the standard motor mount. I also found some 66T spurs but they hold a lot less balls and would still require a 35T pinion, I doubt that would fit.
Now I am not married to the standard mount, what options do I have? Our track really requires a 1.9 FDR and no-one else runs an F104, the other cars I saw seem to have more room to fit such tall gearing.
Cheers,
Hugo

You can go to a 64dpi combo. For example a 76T Xray spur and a 40T pinion will do the job.
I had the same issue with the 48dpi, it is very hard to find a small spur where you can use 12 or more balls.

Well, the concept was nice...

The ceramic balls I have seem too small and they run on the blue points of the holder, not completely on the wear ring. What is required? Bigger balls, I presume, but I fear they will run inside the wear ring on the blue part as well. Advice it welcome...

What parts / sizes are those? (BTW, remove the '?filters' from the link, now it doesn't work.)

Anyone have a setup for low traction bumpy asphalt with technicial layout
Running a 104w
Current setup
5.4mm ride all around ~
30k roll damper
Soft pit tyres all around
Diff is 1/4 turn loose from full lock
Kawada 48p spur gear
Steering DR 85%
Brakes 90%
Abs on radio
Throttle 100%
Drag brake 10%
High punch and high brake settings on esc
SP motor with low timing
FDR of 2.25. Lacking punch coming out of corners. Maybe too conservative on the throttle coming out?

stiff front springs
lighter rear side damper grease
soft rear shock spring, light oil
basically soft rear setup for grip
stiff front set up to kill steering
You get the idea.
These cars just like to do donuts.

Maybe I need to go softer front springs. I think currently have hard fronts

anyone running on low asphalt, if so, how tight are you setting your diff. I feell like im lacking forward bite in the midfield ... and also when on power at short burts that maybe the car is slipping more than normal. I've got it at 1/4 off full lock
