Nice set, but I race Tamiya Cup so I must use Tamiya parts. The reinforced ones seem to be sold out everywhere, I hope they will restock soon.

Cheers,

Hugo

[QUOTE=Ph3nyx;14383244]it's the weak point of the F104. You can use the TRF102 renforced part or event better, the exotek adjustable front arm set (#1205) http://www.exotekracing.com/f104-adj...front-arm-set/
Worth every single penny [/QUOTE

They are nice and all with adjustments but your going to run into issues the first time you smack the front end. You will noticed that their just like turnbuckles. The plastic will become weak and eventually strip out. Just my thoughts.

Hi,

I just bought a stack of 104 Pro bits to change my F103,7 into a 104 Pro (non V2). Is there a general consensus about running a shorty lipo front or rear position? We run relative long outside tarmac tracks on rubber, here.

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi guys, still looking for info so bear with me. This may have been gone over already in this thread but to read through 622 pages to find the answer is tough so i hope someone can advise.

I'm looking at F1 cars and assessing any options in my area... There's a kit form F104X1 and F104 pro (V1 version not the V2)..

For racing on asphalt which would be the best choice out of these two and which is the better car?

Can you easily convert the F104 Pro into a V2 via some parts and if so what parts?

Many thanks

Either would be fine for asphalt, if I was my choice I'd go with the F104X1.

Neither can be upgraded to a V2, completely different type of car (t-bar vs. Link).

The real question is what are your trying to do? If you are just racing on asphalt, the 104X1 is the better choice of the 2. It's fiberglass and will make more traction. It also has nicer parts in the kit. You're not going to easily convert it to a V2 link car.

If you want to do a V2 conversion within the rules of Tamiya TCS racing, it honestly is not necessary. If you just want to make a link car to run in regular races, you can get an Exotek conversion for the car. It is really way more up to date of a link car versus a V2.

Hi f1 people

I'm going to be acquiring a f104w gp soon and need to get a body for it. I understand that 3 racing make a body for the 104. Does the protoform 15 also fit?

Yes, Protoform bodies are fine and a much better choice than the 3 racing one.

Is there an alternate top deck for the 104(w gp) to allow an easier removal of the battery or do people just dremel it shorter so 4 of the 6 posts remain

There is an optional long upper deck to stiffen the car. I used to run mine with only the middle pair of screws in most of the time.
